Looking forward to the home left of the qualifier. Heard the venue is announced later this month. Hope its in Auckland, cause then ill be there!!

Always expected a hiding from Spain, especially after our effort against the Italians, the Spanish wouldn't have wanted the same 4-3 result.

you do realise that the MLS is about 10 times better than the NZFC....

if Chad Coombes gets anywhere near the All Whites we in a hell of a lot of trouble... its even more ludicrous than the Vicelich/Rufer thing...it would be like NSW picking a bloke from Jim Beam cup for Origin 2...
And you do realise that those American based players aren't very good. Chad Coombes is a good player who works hard. Deserves a call-up and as you saw what happened yesterday, Spain stopped trying after scoring a few and it would only be the same if these guys were in the side. As I said about the Vicelich/Rufer thing, not even I'm that stupid to come to such a conclusion but Vicelich is still a good player in his preferred position.

If the guys aren't up to it then don't pick them for future internationals but they couldn't do any worse than those sh*tty american players we always pick excluding Simon Elliott.

do you understand where the NZFC ranks in the world of football??

MLS>A-League>Reserve A-League>My Grandma>Your Grandma>NZFC

you do realise that those sh*tty players from America are actually too good for the NZFC...

if the likes of Chad Coombes were actually any good... he would be playing in a league like the MLS... as he sucks harder than a hooker at pimp convention hes stuck playing in the retirement league for mid table english League 9 players aka the NZFC

Yes the NZFC ranks low in world football but I'd rather see Jason Hayne in the side ahead of Jarrod Smith at least. Has the guy ever scored a goal in his career ? The guy is sh*t. I know you're scared of us losing 9-0 instead of 5-0 against the likes of Spain, but as we saw on Monday, they stopped trying after they were ahead 4-0 so what do we have to lose giving the likes of Hayne, Coombes, Pritchett etc. a go ? And yes, my grandma is a rare talent.

LOL... 9 - 0 would be an achievement for them... i think we would be looking more at 17/18 - 0 with the likes of Coombes running around.

I think this conversation points out that NZ shouldn't be anywhere near a play-off match for a spot in the World Cup. It almost sounds like you're discussing Toyota Cup Rugby League players...no-one outside of NZ has ever heard of them!

And these guys are supposed to suit up against Torres, Villa, Iniesta, Xavi and co????

But i wont be too harsh on them because the number of spots given to the CONCACAF region is a far bigger farce. And its probably to ensure the Septic Tanks get a spot at every World Cup.

CONCACAF is an extremely weak confederation given the population.

Oceania getting this two-leg playoff for a spot in the World Cup is fair.

What's not fair is the fact that there will be some decent European teams missing out. But it isn't the World Cup for nothing.

How NZ playing against Iraq in this tournament will be most interesting.

We want a Middle-East side rather than a Southeast Asian one, and it looks like we will get our wish (as long as Korea DPR either qualify direct or don't make it to the playoff).
