*Special Match* Pink Floyd vs The Sex Pistols

This is a really tough one. The Floyd are just one of those very few special bands that have released some incredible recordings. But the Pistols ... they were on the scene for five minutes but the footprint they left in the history of music is mightily significant.

I'm going to pick Floyd on the back of Syd Barrett's work in the Floyd's early days. I believe it was his short but memorable contributions that drove Waters on for years, nay decades to follow. Floyd would never have made albums like Dark Side, Wish You Were Here and The Wall without Syd's early influence and inspiration.

Given the massive punk youth subculture that still lives on today, someone is clearly out of touch with reality.

If you want to find punks in the Shire, travel out to Menai and surrounding suburbs. Plenty of punks to be found out there. It might not be as openly loud or obnoxious as when punk first arrived, but it still exists if you know where to look - sort of like those WMD's. ;-)
