Just got back from a midnight screening. Must say, in comparison to the first two rather dull films, it's a real improvement. A plot you actually care about, better acting from most (a few sore points there, though), and it's all wrapped up nicely.

Worth a look, whether you loved the original two, or hated them.

Can't wait to see it either.

Forget lining up or pre-purchase tickets, I managed to snare me a ticket to a midnight showing at Crown last night by turning up 10 minutes before the show, sure, front row seats but it wasn't sold out, neither was the 12:20 session. Hardly anyone with costumes (only a handful that I could see).

RotS is a much, much better movie than any of the previous five turned out to be, yes, even better than empire strikes back.

i saw it last night and i must say its a big improvement from episode 1 and 2. There were still glimpses of bad acting but it was still good. The end was poor, the scenes were scattered and it was asthough he lucas was in a hurry to finish the film.

Poorest part of the film and most dissaponting was for me definately the point that most star wars fans were looking forward to was anikan turning to the dark side. Thought it would have been way more dramatic. Anikan was like a light switch in relation to going from good and bad.

Overall it was good, bit over hyped answers a lot of questions

Caught it this morning, enjoyed it thoroughly, was much better than I & II.

Totally agree on the acting, could have been better in some of the more crucial parts, like the eventual turning to the dark side.
Still its up there for mine.

I disagree, I think they emphasised his conflict very well. Plus he had a "dark" moment early in the movie when he killed Dooku, then the Jedi Council rubs him up the wrong way. By the time of the Windu/Palpatine duel he's already a streaming mass of confusion, then when Anakin contributes to the death of a Jedi Master, Anakin snaps and Palpatine pounces.

I agree Anakins turn to the darkside or lack there of was pretty dissapointing,,,,but overall the film was great...

much better movie than eps 1 and 2, quite happy with the outcome. loved all the little tie in bits - obiwans call sign is red leader (luke was red 5 in anh), captain antilles being given the droids, mind wipe for 3po, etc
poorest moment of the movie for me, whilst being the most hilarious part of the film, was when vaders told that padmes dead - him standing there screaming was just hilarious for all the wrong reasons.

I loved it. Chewie made an appearance and Yoda kicked some arse. Anakin looked much better when he didn't speak. His height gave him a presence until he opened his mouth. Overall I loved it and want to see it again so I can pick up all the bit I missed first time round.

Would have been nice to see a young Han Solo but it wasn't to be.

I just got back...

I loved it to.

But there were a few sore points.
- thought his turn was a bit to simple for me too....thought there would be more somehow.
- The dramatic noooooooooooooooooo at the end made me laugh out loud for all the wrong reasons.
- I wanted to see a young solo too...just a little nod somewhere.

I really enjoyed it.
I don't have much bad - just that one scene where they were fighting in the lava. Otherwise I was happy all around.

I saw it today too.

There were a few scarry bits (I am a sook) that I didn't like and just covered my eyes like when Anakin found those younglings in the Jedi Council chambers and I also thought that R2-D2 and Yoda kicked but...

All I want to know is how to Han and Chewie meet?

Puts on Star Wars nerd cap.

Chewie is a slave to the Empire and Han rescues him. The Wookies take honour very seriously and Chewie owes a 'life debt' to Han.

I think the Wookies were used as slaves yo build the Death Star.

2 points stood out to me as "inconsistancies"

Firstly, R2D2 kicks ass at the start of the movie, but had none of those skills in ANH, ESB or ROTJ. This could be put down to "wear & tear", but I still thought it was silly.

Secondly (and a glaring error IMHO), in the original trilogy, Luke asks Leia about her mother, and she says she doesn't remember much, that she looked sad (I can't remember the exact wording, help anyone???), however Padme dies in the movie - surely Leia didn't mean Organa's wife???

The only suggestion for the 'mother' thing in ROTJ is that because Leia is strong in the force and somehow remembers Padme.
