Yeah exactly. Recall the scene where Ki-Adi-Mundi (I think) is crossing that stone bridge, leading troopers, then he pauses and turns around and gets shot down.

All the jedi slaying scenes were sad.
It really was.

The funniest moment is when Darth Vader & the stormtrooper are dancing with each other

" you're breaking my heart"

This line recked the whole mood of that scene. It was all heart breakingly sad and then that line ruined it all.

Have to disagree there. That was about the only scene between Anakin and Padme in the series that was vaguely real.

The only other line between them I liked was when Padme told him to stop looking at her in AOTC because "it made her feel uncomfortable".

George just cannot write "romantic" dialogue.

I thought the rest of the writing was quite good. Christensen is a decent actor. It's easy for people to criticise his acting but it really comes down to the writing.

The Vader saying Nooooooo thing was off key. I thought it should have been a more gutteral, angry, "Noooooo".

I thought the creature that Obi Wan rode for a while was a bit unnecessary. The design department obviously came up with it and they felt they should include it. I thought it was a bit over the top given everything else that was happening.

The Jedi wipeout was surprisingly emotional to me. I guess thinking Jedis were the ultimate movie kickarse heroes for 28 years and seeing them screwed was upsetting.

I'm not ashamed to admit I had the old lump in the throat at the end with the twin sunset mirroring ANH at the end. That scene and the music always gets the hairs on the back of my neck to stand at attention, and the new scene had the same effect.

As I walked out of the theatre tears started to flow as I guess I realised that this series had drawn to a close. These films have been a big part of developing my imagination, which is crucial to any person. Unless you were sitting in the theatre as a 7 year old to watch ANH and subsequently having your mind blown, you probably wouldn't understand.

I wasn't the only one?

Brilliant.

Saw it on the weekend.

You know what bit I thought seemed very rushed, like they said 'sh*t, we forgot about that better stick it in' was when Padme had to name the twins! Didnt think twice didnt look just blurted out 'Luke' 'Lea'.

That bit seemed poorly done to me.

Loved how everything tied in though, that was great and to see the death star in early construction at the end was a god finish.

I was also a bit sad that that is the end of a great series. Their has always been something to look forward to but now its over (unless you count the tv series, which I dont).

Tied all the stories in but it seemed as though there could have been two good movies in there. Very cramped & rushed & could have done with more detail but I still enjoyed it.

It was good, the bad bits have already been pointed out...

"You were supposed to destroy the Sith, not join them!"

That line cracked me up, I thought it was so unintentionally funny. For some reason I pictured it as some sort of bumbling English cop show, "You were supposed to destroy the bloody Sith, not join them you pillock" hmm.

I liked that bit where he had no legs & was on fire. Sorta made the Vader change happen before the suit went on if you know what I mean.

Okay Iam 99% sure it was the Falcon..it was in the bottom right hand corner in the opening scenes of the Corruscont battle...
There was indeed the Falcon but it wasn't during the battle. Check out this easter eggs page from starwars.com. That picture posted above showed where it was in the movie.

My one problem, with my thoeory:

In ROTJ, Luke says: Do you remember your real mother?
Leia: Yeah she died when I was very young, she was beautiful etc...

Padme died when Leia was about 30secs old...

Was Leia refering to Ms.Organa, and Leia was under the assumption that Ms.Organa was her REAL mother, to keep her Skywalker identity hidden from the Empire? Perhaps Ms. Organa died when she was say 4, then Bail Organa remarried...well I dont know...Ive lost myself now
That's certainly a plausible theory. What's clear is that the birth scene was certainly badly written and very rushed.

Many fans have said that because Leia is stronger in The Force than Luke (it's in the books), she could reach out to the moments of her birth or her mother's memories from The Force.

Of course, the real explanation would be that Lucas forgot about that teeny tiny dialog between Luke and Leia while he was writing episode 3.

Yeah, mate, that is the other theory about Padme-Leia, how Leia is very force attuned, forgot about that one...Have you read the books, do they give any indication on this subject?

But yes, the real explanation is G.Lucas, but we all wish that aint so!

Nah, I haven't read any Star Wars books for years, so I'm just going by memory. it's far too spread out these days and all the books are considered as part of the continuity unlike Star Trek so there's a whole heap of significant details and major story arcs across the whole line of Star Wars books that I can't be bothered going through.

But, if you look at figures adjusted for inflation, its a different story:

Original Star Wars $1,139,965,400

Titanic $821,413,700

But look at this, this is amazing:

Gone with the Wind $1,293,085,600

GwtW, made in 1939, is still at the top, when adjusting for inflation! That is very impressive!
