I'm not sure. I don't have that high level of source.

But I do know someone they had a meeting with regarding minor sponsorship in which they are still negotiating.

I've heard similar about having a major sponsor secured however. But with no concrete evidence.

Best thing would be not expecting anything

Nah. I am not expecting to hear until some other source releases the info. I am just going by if we do have a sponsor nothing would be to gain from holding off. We are the only team to not release jersey's yet. Given the place will close for xmas soon it's either the next week or so or Jan/Feb. The sooner the better

It's a bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation if they have secured another major.

Announce now and you potentially pickup christmas sales from those who will only by a jersey with a sponsor on it but probably miss out on some media attention given it's cricket season.

Announce later get the extra media attention but miss out on the christmas sales.

Just because they sponsor another club doesn't rule us out. Remember Sanyo sponsored us, GWS and had a box at Brookvale. When this property thing is settled don't be surprised if Cabe is involved and that could involve sponsorship.

Panthers sponsorship linked with Panthers property development? Isn't that like paying for your own sponsorship?

Lew has recently stated his intention in wanting to help out financially where he can. I guess it would boil down to what our asking price is for major sponsorship and whether he can stump up that amount.

We are really missing plenty of chances for media exposure. Once we have had open training for the media. We should be getting out there as much as possible.

We had the xmas party on Sat. Nothing other clubs get the tv & newspaper crews out. Fittler was there to flog his book. Get the tv to interview him. Interview a few players done. Hospital visit last week nothing.

Players went to Glenmore Park shops. I found out on Friday a missed sponsor/membership drive gone. Very poor

I think things have improved with our media strategy. We have been shown in on Fox sports and in the DT fairly prominently recently.

As for the xmas party, there's a fair chance the media were invited but I can tell you from experience sometimes for whatever reason, they don't come when they're invited. It was only a xmas party and they have been out a fair bit lately.

The Glenmore Park thing was disgraceful though. No advertising from the club or the centre, most people only found out by word of mouth and social media after a few people had seen the guys. That was very poor.

No more or no less than usual in this period of time, but I was perhaps expecting more since the purge of coaching staff and what we should be in for 2012.
