Admire Ratke is had and shoulders above any Australian stayer. If you can get pre totes of $5 and $2.20, you should a tleast break even.

I read the other day that Admire Rakti was rated the 21st best stayer in Japan and for good reason. It won't win the Cup and will be lucky to get a place.

Statistics show that any horse who has been unplaced over 3200m or more in two or more races has never been placed in a Melbourne Cup. Admire Rakti fits that criterion as does Cavalryman, Dandino, Seismos, Royal Diamond, Precedence and Like A Carousel (if it qualifies).

How Precedence is in the Cup is beyond me. Give old Bart a send off maybe?

Lord Van Percy and Marksmanship both out of the Lexus. Means no Cup for them in 2014 unless there is three and seven dropouts respectively that are above them in the order of entry.

If any of the horses below them win the Lexus and/or Mackinnon, they may as well kiss it all goodbye.

2 bets for me today,ole mate Brambles in the Mackinnon stakes,doesn't appear to be much pace in this race,Brambles normally is in the first 3 in running,hoping he can even go to the lead here and get an easy time of it,Mackinnon Stakes has thrown up a few winners in recent times where there wasn't much pace in the race and the leader couldn't be run down

Concern is that he has had some tough racing and could be at the end of his prep,worth a shot at the odds(Lucia Valentina would be short priced fav here and he has finished close up to her twice),wouldn't surprise me if he tailed off such is the tough racing he has had(come back from injury too) but i would kick myself if he did win at these good odds and i wasn't on it,worth a shot.



Husson Eagle the place at 15/1 in the Coolmore Stud is the other bet(wasted all my energy talking about Brambles,can't be bothered talking bout this one lol)
