Great aids.LOL...
Great minds, just cursed
Chapman is spot on, our horses ATM are about as good as top batsman. i.e. Shit. It's so Japanese it raced in a Kimono.
You only sprout lies like that when you're conscious about the fact that the Aussie horses are stinking it up atm.
Chapman touched a nerve.
Tbh I don't have anywhere near the racing knowledge you Punters Forum Lords have...Chapman is spot on, our horses ATM are about as good as top batsman. i.e. Shit.

I'm like a starry eyed kid looking up at the Kangaroos team when I read this forum (Locky would be Aaron Woods in this image).
But that being said it at least means that I'm not tainted by parochialism; which brings with it blinding bias that you can smell a mile away. So from outside looking in, the dominance of the overseas invaders (often B graders over there) during Spring Carnival seems obvious.
Oh and to everyone's credit here that bias isn't evident at all; where as I love giving it to my mates calling Winx overrated and saying Cracksman would flog her purely because they blow up harder than Craig Bellamy in a coaches box when I do.
*edit* P.S. Ftr Winx is obviously an all time great horse. I just vomit everytime someone gets teary eyed and calls her the greatest ever when there's no such thing; I mean how do you compare horses over countries, strength of competition, eras and surfaces. Give me a break. That sort of sensationalism should be left to the Yanks.
Winx is a super dooper mare, absolutely top shelf and would be competitive anywhere in the world up to 2000m.Tbh I don't have anywhere near the racing knowledge you Punters Forum Lords have...

I'm also a big Sheffield Wednesday fan in English football so they cancel each other out.As a Roosters fan you have no excuse for your crippling gambling addiction, the rest of us in here are either Parra, North Sydney or Glebe supporters
Awesome post. Love the insight.Winx is a super dooper mare, absolutely top shelf and would be competitive anywhere in the world up to 2000m.
But Chapman is correct, she hasn't been beating much, our horses past 1600m are pretty much aids. The WFA ranks are non existent and the quality 3yr old colts are kept in cotton wool in case their stud value might drop. The mares rule because all the top quality colts are off to stud before they even reach 4 these days, the Cox plate tomorrow is an embarrassment, it's meant to be the best race on the calendar but it's barely above a Benalla 90 rater.
No it's not her fault but she had the chance to go overseas and the owners and Waller squibbed it, but what gets me is when people who have been following the sport for 5 mins tell me she is the greatest ever and the best we all have ever seen. "But she's won 28 straight no other horse has done that" Yes thats true but if the greats like the King or Tulloch or Phar Lap had been managed like her they could of went on streaks like that as well. Kingston town lost his first start as a colt and was gelded, her never lost another race in Sydney nor looked like losing one. He never real handled the Melbourne way of going especially Caulfield but Tommy Smith ran him there anyway. He did manage to win two Caulfield Stakes and 3 Cox Plates despite never being on his right leg. After his 3rd Cox plate win he ran second in a Melbourne Cup with 62.5kgs and was a tragedy beaten.
Thats the difference, they ran the horse to win not to protect records. Phar Lap and Carbine all won 4 races in cup week at Distances from 1600m up to 3200m. 4 races in a week horses barely run that many races in a prep. So you can't compare what she is doing to what they did in the past. It's geniused, if anyone wants to see an amazing win watch Phar Laps win in America where he sat 4 wide the trip because they were worried the other horses were going to try and take him out. He gets to the top of the straight and then wins by about 6. An absolutely amazing win that had to be seen to believed. But but but but Winx beat Humidor by half a length lol.
