also Lockie... Surprise Baby won on heavy before and flew through it... where you getting your info from.

These horses are better than some local stayers it faced. I trust my eyesight where it looks a lot better when it’s not too wet.

I did say it was the best local chance albeit I don’t rate many of the local stayers at all.

Very keen Sweet Scandal in R6 and Betcha Flying in the last..Both ew odds.

Don’t be put off by them being by Seplod and Uncle Slow, they are good horses.

Somehow gotten the day off tomorrow, day looks super tough. I can see my bank getting taken to brown town.

My work booked a pub lunch...which is great as everyone generally buggers off home after the race, rather than go back to the office when Perth customers start their half day by ringing/emailing in.

Some real smart ones in that last race though, the fave and the 11 look the main dangers.

I am keen on one here in the cup lads, Southern France, think it's handicapped superbly and has form around some of the top class stayers in Europe, two back he towelled up Master of Reality who is a similar price, last start they dawdled along and he hit the line hard in the Irish St Leger (beating Cross Counter, Master of Reality and Latrobe, all at equal weights).

I just think if they run along he will be putting pay to them down the outside with what I consider to be a light weight given what he's done in Europe and who he's done it against

We will see. Profiles so well. Gets 3200m, tick. Wet form, tick. light weight, tick. Ticks all the boxes. I much rather it than Finche, who somehow is favourite.

People are overrating it because it’s a NH 3yo like Rekindling and Cross Counter. It’s form isn’t nearly as good as either of those. I’ve heard it’s been getting lapped in trackwork at Werribee, bad gate it will have to go forward I can see it getting caught wide and not settling. It has a jockey who I don’t think has ever ridden in Australia before let alone Flemington.

I’m hesitant to take on the great Locky but I’m declaring it will run bottom 5

Fair point but this year I doubt it has to be as good as Cross Counter or Rekindling. It’s in everything for mine

Good old mystery Tris and F4s are gold for the Melbourne Cup
In 07 I spent 40 bucks and got the tri almost twice I was so confident of my BAE Efficient along with Purple Moon. I cleaned up and won plenty and thought I was pretty hot shit. Then I ring my old boy who tells me mum got the tri in a mystery and he liked the numbers so much he boxed the 3 runners for 20 bucks.

The Merkin got the tri 3.3 times for just 20 bloody bucks :)
