I'm pretty sure Stagger mentioned it elsewhere but I believe that Luke Kelly will be sticking around on a second tier deal next year. Don't know if he will be preferred over Matterson in 2015 but it means that we should have a half with NRL experience available.

I was wondering if Kelly would be offered a second tier deal. I'm guessing he could get a run in the UK Super League if he wanted.

Is the maximum amount you can pay someone on a second tier deal the lowest amount someone is on a Top 25 contract for?

So we still have only Hunt as our backup fullback for the next two seasons?
Do you think Hoppa will be used there if needed instead?

Hunt is indeed the only recognised fullback in our top roster beyond Hayne. Brad Arthur mentioned earlier this year that Hopoate spent time training at fullback while Hayne was at the World Cup so he is a potential option while both Chris Sandow and Corey Norman have some experience in the position.

Beyond them there is really only Nathan Davis who, despite being a centre by trade, is in the midst of his second stint at fullback for our NYC team. I would be shocked if he was given the custodian duties due to injury and/or rep commitments for Hayne in 2015 though.

2017 team:

1. Jarryd Hayne
2. Semi Radradra
3. Israel Folau
4. William Hopoate
5. Josh Dugan
6. Keiran Foran
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Tim Mannah
9. Nathan Peats
10. Jared Warea-Hargreaves
11. Sonny Bill Williams
12. Manu Ma'u
13. Ken Edwards

14. Tepai Moeroa
15. Kelepi Tanginoa
16. Pauli Pauli
17. Ben Smith

We would be a mile over the cap, but having Ben Smith in there puts the NRL off the scent completely.
No team with Ben Smith in it could possibly be over the cap.
too bad about number 15.

EELS:
With such an exciting young roster, Parramatta have focussed on retaining existing talent - including Semi Radradra (2018), Tim Mannah (2017), Manu Ma’u (2017), Tepai Moeroa (2017) and Kenny Edwards (2017). But to do so they’ve had to cut the likes of Willie Tonga (Catalan Dragons), Fuifui Moimoi (future undecided), Ken Sio (Hull Kingston Rovers), Jacob Loko (mid-season - Bulldogs), Ben Smith (retired) and Kelepi Tanginoa (Cowboys).
Ins: Beau Champion (Rabbitohs), Isaac De Gois (mid-season - Sharks), Cody Nelson (Titans), Ben Crooks (Hull FC), Shannan McPherson (Salford Red Devils)
Outs: Willie Tonga (Catalan Dragons), Ken Sio (Hull Kingston Rovers), Jacob Loko (mid-season - Bulldogs), Ben Smith (retired), Kelepi Tanginoa (Cowboys), Brenden Santi (mid-season - Tigers), Liam Foran (London Broncos)
New contracts: Semi Radradra (2018), Tim Mannah (2017), Manu Ma’u (2017), Tepai Moeroa (2017), Kenny Edwards (2017), David Gower (2016), Vai Toutai (2017)
Future to be decided: Fuifui Moimoi, Joseph Paulo, Luke Kelly, Taniela Lasalo, Toby Evans, John Folau, Ben Jones, Lorenzo Ma’Afu, Api Pewhairangi, Joseph Ualesi

From Hull FC website

2103 Rookie of the Year. Nice pick up.

The son of club legend Lee Crooks, Ben has made an equally impressive start to his Hull career and many are tipping the young centre to follow in his dad’s footsteps as a future England international.
The club’s top try-scorer in 2013 despite missing the latter part of the campaign through injury, Crooks was rewarded for an outstanding campaign by picking up the Super League Young Player of the Year award.
Also named in the Super League Dream Team, Crooks will be looking to pick up where he left off in 2014.
