Taka would do well as a second rower. Big and physical - Hit hard. At centre he does get lost in defense. And cramp his winger.

Taka would be top 17 at most clubs.

Look at the storm bench this week, I am certain Taka would easily get a bench spot at the Storm. While he would definitely be on the Roosters bench taking Mattersons role - he is a better player. And I am sure he would offer more then Fenson / Hampton at the Cowboys.

And that's the top 3 sides

You're dreaming if you think Takairangi would get a run ahead of Fenson, he's a middle forward playing a different role the coach needs and Hampton would get a run before Takairangi because he can play dummy half effectively.

Matterson...see Fensom.

I think we're missing Kenny Edwards a lot. Put him and De Gois back in the 17, and we're a different side imo.

Still one back short though from being top 4-6 quality.

Alot of the damage in the last two weeks has been caused in the first 30 minutes, so Edwards wouldn't have helped much there, but he would be handy.

De Gois would be handy, but I doubt he's still an 80 minute player.

So the general consensus is that BA has assembled a squad for 2017 that:
- has a bench second rower playing right center
- has middle forwards who push offloads because they are consistently getting dominated in the middle
- an inexperienced spine
- only 1 playmaker in the 7 who is our only kicker
- a non creative 9 who can't kick and misses a shitload of tackles
- a 6 who also can't kick

???

I'm not sure the second reason is why they're pushing the passes. I'd say it's premeditated.

But we just need a half and we are a top 4 side..........

Btw, i believe we have been building towards 2018, not this year

Probably right, but you would still want improvements in the way the squad plays this year compared to the back end of last year, with theoretically a better squad.

I'm not sure that's the case at this stage.

Hopefully getting back to playing an opponent that's a similar standard to us in the Warriors will help us get back on the winners list.

Well any imbecile with a brain would realise its gonna take a few years to get over last years debacle ... unfortunately i dont know if it can be done by 2018

If we had spent 1.2m for hunt im sure many would be whinging about it deluxe

IMO we have the base of a good team, but we need 1 or 2 more pieces

Plus if we want to compete this year we need our guns to fire ... norman has been a bit sketchy the last couple of games and Semi doesnt really seem interested atm ... matagi started like a steamtrain but seems tired now

Most people on here predicted top 8 finishes (a fair few predicted top 4) for 2017, let alone 2018.

those coaches would adjust their bench to fit Taka on it.

Matterson is an edge player like Takairangi. But Takairangi is a better player.

Gutherson has gone worse in the halves than last year. That has changed my prediction. We are a mid table side, about 50% chance of making the eight.

The whole team seems tired, and unfit.

Last year was the fittest I had ever seen a Parra side, and it showed on the field.

I thought Devlin would be a huge loss and we replaced him with a pensioner who has been booted from his last two clubs.
