Square Markers

Boring topic I know but I'm becoming more and more frustrated/angry with teams getting penalties because the second marker isnt square whilst the guy playing the ball is doing so on an angle.
Ok we got nailed for it 3 times on Friday night and I'm not sure we did anything wrong.Looked to me that Broncos were playing the ball on an angle.
The Titans did it against the Raiders a number of times(didnt play the ball straight and one was so bad the ref actually nailed them once-should have been more).
Only a minor thing in the scheme of things but those penalties cost us on friday night.Didnt worry the Raiders though.
Sorry for the boring topic but had to get it off my chest.

One of the penalties was justified ( Anderson ) but yes we were pinged two other times for nothing.

gee ennis is good at milking it

frustrating to watch but smart on his part. I'd like to see the refs ping the player for moving off the mark.

And also the man playing the ball pushing the man off the mark.

easy to pick up head on - but can be difficult otherwise

when the palyer playing the ball moves and the dummy half scoots straight it is a high percentage result for the attacking team

im sure it will be an area of concern for the officials prior to the finals commencing

The refs love to nail the defending side when the attacking team is running the ball out from their goal line.
Funny that and it seems to be the home team that gets the penalty.

wait till they address it and start to penalise the attacking team for not playing the ball correctly - that will be funny

I think whinging Manly got pinged a couple of times tonight for standing all over the guy playing the ball. Leaning on him and stopping him from getting into his desired possie to play the ball.

I don't know whether this was just a annoying tactic or just a ploy to stop the attacker from moving a little to the left or right to make the marker look out of line.

Who knows.

Well let's not push the Shoggles on too tight. We do it as much as some teams. Degwah is quite the expert at nailing that particular penalty and also utilising the Time Warp play the ball too get a scoot happening.

I agree with the consensus though. The marker rules in general are a blight.

It's all Warren Ryan's fault

Don't think Hayne has been charged for that either.

He's got a bit of the grub in him, young Hayne.

We better nab him!!

Yeah we should grab the grub before he becomes a target for some other party.

I've just had a call from a friends mates father who works at the club.

Sticky had engaged the services of a specialist marker defender coach to improve this facet of our game.

The guy sent me a pic but no name.... its pretty hush hush at the moment, but he did say he had played senior level at an NRL club before.

Anyone know who he is or anything on him..

Oh yeah ....... the pic
