oh and also Sanga and gilly are 2 completely different players.

no comparison really - if you want a #3/4 batsman, and/or a #3/4 batsman/keeper then Sangakarra is your man - at the latter he's the best there's been I reckon. If you want a #7 batsman/keeper, Gilchrist is your man - he's the best there's been I reckon

Well done Murali!

Probably the biggest achievement in the country's history. Amongst the war, poverty and natural disasters you gave the small 3rd world nation something to smile about.

Champion.

As an individual, no doubt, though it would be hard to pass their World Cup win over Australia.

Minnows to World Champions.

The record aside this is shaping up as a very good test match. Sangakkara is in supreme form at the moment and a good innings from him may steer Sri Lanka to victory. If he falls cheaply, Sri Lanka will struggle.

Sangakkara is yet to get a 100 against England also. That is the only nation he hasnt got a century against. He came close in the First Innings though!

that'd mean that Obelix is next to Warne's??

Fair enough that there might be an asterisk next to Murali's, but there are at least two next to Warne's...

Murali's not the first bowler to have a 'debatable action' - pretty much every offspinner in the history of cricket, Charlie Griffiths (who is lauded) and others.

All that nonsense aside - looks like a potentially very good test

And congrats Murali, even if you graceless buffoons can't bring yourselves to congratulate him - most of the world can
