.

That Parramatta game was the last straw.

Was pointing fingers after his first shit pass in the first minute. Then proceeded to be the antithesis of a good leader, trying to instill some confidence in the playing group. Just awful body language on the field all game.

Flanagan couldn't even wait to get behind closed doors to start ripping him after that game.

.
Arsehole just had to win, parra would've been spooners, that last 10 minute period was just pure joy, would've been sweeter, of the damn dargons just got it done

Maybe. Although Gutho always gives every bit of fuel in the tank. His knees are just f**ked, and fans are fickle
Well I have found all that, all that shimmers in this world is sure to fade, again, just like guthos knees, just this time it'll be at the dargons

Hunt did actually try pretty hard on the field.

Problem is he is a horrible halfback with poor decision making and execution under pressure.

Gutho is pretty limited as a player and outside of 2022 his team struggled in the finals since he doesn't have elite playmaking or explosive physical attributes.

Cook also is a goer, but also became invisible in the the finals. @yobbo84 can attest.

A spine of Sloan, Gutho, Nepo Baby and Cook is going to be nearly as frustrating as watching Hunt f**k up if not be more maddening.

Ehhhh did he always? I dunno about that tbh.

It can be hard to tell shit footy from laziness a lot of the time, so you could be right

Gutho's issue his is lack of speed these days. And also the moments where he turns into a total Gunco. He has, for a fullback anyway, an outstanding pass and a decent shirt kicking game. But his knees sort of negate all that because he used to be elite and sweeping left to create an extra number and throwing the money ball. He just can't get there now.

If they play him at six then lulz

The biggest thing St Merge will get out of Cook and Gutho is them showing their young players what it means to train hard and give 100%.

I've had my annoyances about Cook, but he's been the fittest player at our club without doubt and you could never question his effort.

Anything they could contribute on field would be a bonus for them.

"Shirt" kicking? :p

I'm sure it was a typo, but it gave me a laugh when I first read it. I really needed it. Cheers. :)

Whilst I understand this, The Dragons had the second most experienced squad in the game this year. They also have a Premiership winning hard nosed coach. Professionals shouldnt need that shit.

Also I would argue that Cook and Gutho had better squads this year then they'll have next year at Saints, and finished 15th and 16th. So not sure how much their off field contribution helped.

Did they though? Full strength on paper probably. But both had significant injuries and off field issues. Both sacked coaches. The team that we rolled out for the last few rounds was barely a first grade team tbh.

This Year?

Penrith for two years.......

I can picture it now:

SAINTS v WINNERS
A Grand Final preview by This merkin at the Hourly Tardograph.
3 mins read.

The Penrith Panthers chasing a historic 5 Grand Final wins in a row come up against the St George Illawarra Dragons in a Grand Final nobody could have predicted.
The Panthers who were undefeated since July are facing their 1st grand final without Nathan Cleary after he broke his leg in their Preliminary Final win over the Melbourne Storm. Ben Hunt who was a late addition to the Panthers in June will face his former club for the 1st time after being 18th man for the Maroons and missing out on a much anticipated matchup against his former club. In an exclusive interview this masthead was able to get a quote from Hunt which will ignite his former clubs fans.
"Yeah I'm sure they (Dragons fans) will be ready to give me a bit of a serve, maybe I can silence them with a field goal to win the game if it gets close." says Ben Hunt with a cheeky Grin.
The Dragons who were favourites to win the wooden spoon at the start of the season face the biggest challenge of their careers after their shock defeat over the Cronulla Sharks in the Preliminary Final in which Nicho Hynes made a crucial error with 2 minutes to go to help the Dragons get into their first Grand Final since 2010.
We tried to get an interview with Shane Flanagan but he declined, however we scoured social media pages to guage the feeling of the club's much maligned fans.
"I hope we **** that **** up." posted one fan.
"At fulltime I hope that ******* whiny **** is on his knees choking with tears in his eyes like Jeff Stryker." writes another.
"If that ******* flog loses the game for them like he has for us many times, it'd be glorious." posted another.
The irony who was not lost on Panthers coach Ivan Cleary had this to say when questioned about Hunt's ability in pressure moments. "Yeah I'm a bit nervous, but aren't we all in these games? We had no other option but to chuck him in there *laughs* so we'll see he goes."

Tickets are on sale at www.inflatedticketprice.com and also will shown live and free on channel Nein.

Firstly, its not up to any team Captain to say who should or shouldn't be in the team. Its not the Captain's job. Doing it via the media is just unprofessional way to do it also.

Further, it would not be conducive to team building and team harmony. Light years from it in fact.
Did he do it on purpose? Like to force their hand?

doesn’t matter

you’ve got 1 million on offer then plenty will shake from the tree

For the coin he would command, it could be a rough start for him starting from scratch with a new fanbase that have just rid themselves of an underperforming marquee. I’m intrigued to see how this plays out.

General rule of thumb: when someone gets tagged with the “heart and soul of the club” tagline it means either they’re rubbish and lack ability or their best days are well behind them.
