Well considering you have got rid of Rovelli, Witt, Fien and Foran in quick succession you'd think you'd have no choice but to persist with Jones for a bit.

FMD, I don't believe it.

I do think (wish) however, that Stace himself may pull the pin. He is obviously aware
of all the critisism and that doesn't sit well with him.

Is it just me or was Fien worth peservering with after his WC form, seriously looked great guns and if he didnt know he was destined for the bench or worse may have taken the confidence to develope into a half.

Now you guys are f**ked cause the only way he was effective was when he came off the bench for limited minutes...... Now do you's have any other halfback options?

NOOOO!!!! (kicks someone in the face)

how the hell can cleary be happy with the amount of games we've won this year with this guy in control. we had our wins at the start of the season with fien at halfback, not stacey. does ivan reallly think we cant do better?

I really want to know what games Ivan and John are f***ing watching because they defintly aint the ones they show on TV or the ones they sell tickets for. Everything was looking good till they started Stacey, he is a legend but he should have stayed that legend not this one.

You gotta laugh....
Or not.
Johnson promoted after our season is screwed and given a chance. That is our only hope I reckon. These experiments they've been doing just aren't working and god knows why they are perservering with it.
The halves are so depleted now the best option is Jones off the bench as a Johnson mentor. And that's harsh on the young fellow as he'll need to fire in FG immediately now. Ironic-Not given a chance to 'protect' him-and with all the releasing of halves they have added huge pressure on him. Funny mindset IMO

Nathan Fien started at halfback in 2 matches in 2009. The Warriors won both.

That said, Fien, Witt, Rovelli... they're all examples of the Warriors woes in the halves. None of them were decisive or dominant. Fien's a hard one to judge because he had a magic three week stint at the World Cup, where he stepped back and just pulled the strings a bit and did it very well, but even in the 2 matches we won this year his kicking was usually straight down the fullbacks gob and not doing anything of note. Fien at the World Cup was toying with fullbacks, and his purpose with his kicking gave our defensive line a great chance to sack our opponents in their corner. My big hope for the year was for him to carry on doing that.

What I don't get probably more than anything is that we could all see it... at the end of 2003, Stace was hammered. He's had to change his game a lot, from being an instinctive direct player to being a schemer and organiser, and I don't think his suits his skill set. He's had to do it because in 2003 he got buggered with an injury. Still, 6 years on the club can't see that he's past his prime. Ouch.
