Awesome trailer, definitely cut to be deceptive though... No chance in hell they give that much away.

Rey is dressed exactly as she is at the end of TFA when she first meets Luke. It's likely taken from early in the movie.

Kylo Ren looks like he may get a redemption in this movie, looks sure as hell a lot more interesting than he was in TFA

On 3rd watch... Maybe no so deceptive.

Damn that's a good trailer. Best one yet from the new Star Wars movies imo.
I have no idea what to expect from this movie, is the trailer cut to make you think something will happen but it doesn't or is that decision there to be made for a character?

This the 3rd or 4th time I have changed my mind

I think the final scene of that trailer is like Luke's dark side vision in the cave on Dagobah; Rey is talking to Kylo with a backdrop of fire raining down on him but there's nothing behind her. We've seen the flashback of the Jedi temple in flames so he's obviously standing in front of it in a vision.

Also, I'll need to watch the trailer again but in the final scene, Kylo has a plain scar. Up until that point he's got some sort of tape (bacta tape?) filling the scar so I reckon it's a Force vision.

Side note. I'm still not sure I like having a December release for Star Wars.
Plus side, I go to the shops more around x-mas and get to see Star Wars toys and stuff, and I'm usually pretty happy leading up to x-mas and having Star Wars around doubles my happy.
Negative side, I'm less likely to see the movie as often because cinemas are so busy with school holidays.

All the Star wars pre-equal trailers looked great , even the Force awkens, until I saw the movies, Not that I did'nt like the Force Awakens it was better than the pre-equal movies, but really it was a retelling of a new hope using the same surroundings Empire and Return of the Jedi, It was made to please purist..
I left the Cinema said to my wife is this what I really waited for aren't their no longer any script writers left in Hollywood?

Yeah, that whole "retelling on New Hope" line gets trotted out a lot and was one of the criticisms of it but they did the same with elements of Phantom Menace as well. The obvious similarities to Empire being trotted out for Last Jedi and I certainly hope it is it's own movie but I think that those of us have who been immersed in the franchise will see similarities perceived or otherwise.

No offence to you mate but the whole "Ep 7 was just a rehash/remake/redux of Ep 4" statements are a total load of BS. Sure there are some similar story beats but for every similarity involved, there are 4-5 story elements that are completely different.

Its lazy thinking from audiences and critics imo.

Sorry, its just a big bug bear of mine
