The Tigers are the first club to take advantage of the Origin period this year and, in doing so, they keep us firmly in 14th position until the Dragons play tonight.

Rivoting stuff.

I'm looking forward to Wednesday night though. Winter's arrived and the game is always a great chance for people to get out and socialise. It's a big thing in small towns.

Cronk is injured, which has previously proved to be massively disruptive to QLD.

If Qld lose I can already hear the washup, several high profile Maroons 'came back for one Origin series too many'.

I think NSW might have it this year.

But Meth, isn't that often the case with Origin? That NSW had the superior team, on paper, but the Maroons lifted beyond their more fancied rivals? Isn't that part of Origin folklore? And why Qld became a favourite in NZ?

Now the Dragons roll the Cowboys.

Geez, why weren't we playing one of the top sides this weekend? We might've snatched two points.

It's absolutely laughable that a competition allows a draw where the Tigers get such an undeserved leg-up like that. They haven't won in Brisbane in 6 years, because they're crap, and they manage to get two undeserved points via a lucky 1-point win against a second-string side. Then the Dragons do exactly the same. It's nuts. No other sport in the world does it.

Now this bitterness does not stem from who I support. We get massive leg-ups every year and it shows in our mid-year winning percentage. And Brisbane will be at less than optimal power next week off the back of travel and Origin. But f**k me, what a dumb system.

And the Raiders now beat the Bulldogs, although what connection that result has to do with Origin is far less clear than the previous two games this round.

Either way, battling clubs, just above us on the table, have secured three big wins.

What. A. Season.

on paper, Queensland's pack and bench seem lightweight literally compared to NSW's monsters.
its what Maloney and Reynolds do with their field position thats going to win or lose it for them this year as i can see NSW dominating metres gained.

Gus doesn't get any less subtle in his pre-kick-off hype, does he?

Also, kick-off, it seems to get later and later each year.

All due to channel 9 and their need to get a hundred ads in before kick off. I would accept it if it meant that there were no more ads until half time but I bet they'll cut away after every try too

The build up is done well, pity they don't put the same effort into NZ vs Aussie.
But it really is missing a Haka

Do you think if you could play for state of residence and the country of birth Tamou and Papapali would play for the Kiwis?

A missed strip and 3 forward passes opens the game up for NSW.
No sure what Coppers plan was backing off at speed from Maloney.
