Harsh on Mitchell - that ball for the try alone was enough for me

I think he had one great moment in an otherwise poor game. His opposite had one poor moment in an otherwise great game.

He gave away so many penalties.

I meant Nathan. I was making one of my famously very funny jokes.

Although I'm pretty sure Nathan does qualify for NZ, and having spent about 10 of his first 14 years here he's more than Kiwi enough for me.
Actually thinking about it... I think he does (or at least did) hold an NZ passport. I'm sure that was mentioned at some point. He moved here when he was what, 2 or 3? probably travelled on his parents passports at the time, but would've needed his own by the time he left. Good enough for me.

I thought, in typical Mitchell style, he'd overreach after suffering that shot from Nanai. He sort headed in that direction (brutish, foul play) but these days he might've learnt his lesson.

They played right a lot, maybe because all the pre-game talk was about the left so Loz decided to throw in a sucker punch. But when Mitchell doesn't get a chance to impose himself early he can drift a bit. Maybe they should give him an early kick off return in game 2. Force him into the mix.

Maybe, although I doubt having a passport has anything to do with eligibility tbh

Tino might've been over emotional from the start, crying at the anthem and all that, which could've affected his play.

It was one problem Latrell will never have.

NRL360 an embarrassing watch with Tallis and Read unable to take the majority of the criticism, especially with Leniu. Read isn’t too clever at the best of times but Origin can take some Qlders to new levels

Well, sad to say the the woman's 3rd game was a better spectical!
I thought so too, it had a cracking finish. I told the mrs the other night that they should play women's Origin as a 'warm-up to the men'.

No, they have their own crowd and gate-takings for the League.

I just wish the commentators would stop acting like it's young children playing. Be more mature with their approach and discard the gushing praise.

Just adding to what I said about the gushy commentary of the Women's games. I reckon Gus and all those guys go. Just have that main Nine commentator (the non-ex-player) and the rest made up of women. They'll just call it like it is.

The blokes - the ex-players - have had so much time to get it right that they probably won't by now. Calling it like an U10s game is deeply insulting, cringeworthy and patronising.

Agreed. I don't watch the women's game, I don't rate it. Unfortunately, those CH9 guys are forced to, and it's clear they don't rate it (especially Gus) and it comes across awfully.

Matt Thompson is the guy you mean, have him and Justin Horo as he knows a lot about the game and is passionate about it.

Another Gordy special last night on 360.. reckons NSW should start Leniu and make him play 80 rather than coming off the bench "after all the tough stuff is done". And if they do that, QLD will definitely kick off to him.

It got the ridicule it deserved.

What's your thoughts on playing state of origin in NZ ?

I’m not a fan of neutral venues TBH. Having two home games every other year used to be a big deal, and the other team used to get up for it too. I think since they squared things up its taken away a little bit from the rivalry.

That said, I get the ‘spreading the gospel’ thing and no doubt it would go off here. But like @Blair says, the time zone issue is a tough one to solve for.

Even if fans are willing to cop a 10pm kick off, I'm not sure the NRL would even get consent. Pretty sure the latest a game has been permitted to kick off was 9pm for the 2011 RWC semis and final. And even that was a ball ache to get across the line.
