F ing hell, he so very nearly succeeded. He was out for 6 weeks if that tackle was an inch higher, and Collins might not be awake now.
He came close to knocking himself out the second time he tried to smoke Collins too... dude was right on the edge both times. And on his own clubmate.

That's it. He knocked it on into himself and then it rebounded back. That's a knock on. The Fox commentators were full o shit.
Same with Nine. They really tried to set the tone with this one. The game could've ended in controversy, which NSW's great comeback didn't deserve.

How good was Capewell in that? Really justified his selection and underlined his recent club form. Hope he carries it through for the rest of the season!
If he does, and he's capable of shutting down players as good as Haas, well, you know, how far can we go? I must admit to getting a little excited about the business end of this year.

We're not there yet. We know that, of course.

Indeed. There’s parts of the Storm I do admire, Bellamy’s record is undeniable and they’ve had some good Kiwi’s over the years.

But fk me.. when guys like Slater and Hoffman get on their sanctimonious high horses it really fking grates given their history.

Hoffman will tell you as well that none of them knew they were over the cap, even the captain who was managing himself at the time …
Yeah, exactly. I liked Hoffman as a Warrior but F him, he's one of the Storm flogs who still claims they have the premierships.

And how many times has the word grub been used before Saint Billy arced up about it? Gets used nearly every week, and quite accurately from a guy who used his knees and feet as tackling technique.

I love how they always say “we worked as hard as anyone else and know we deserved them” argument, every club was working hard, most of them inside the rules though

There is also the fact in 2009 they were weak in the halves, so got Finch over mid season to sort that while already a mile over the cap

Rugby League will forever peak at a cheating side getting decimated 40-0 in the the big one. “But we didn’t have Cam Smith”, well, look what happens when you play near the cap fellas

Yeah that first line is f**ked. The old 7 year old kid excuse too 'everyone else was doing it'.

I remember exactly where I was for 40-0, and it was immensely satisfying. They'd been wrestling, chicken wing-ing and refereeing (Cam Smith) and it was so good to see Manly shit all over them. Then 2010 came with the salary cap penalties, and they brought that BS siege mentality to toweling us up the week after, and I'd never hated a sporting side more in my life. Still do, and I'm going to be living down the road from HQ in 48 hours time!!

First 'home' game for me is going to be the Sea Eagles, and I will be down cheering them on with all my might

Oh Jesus we are playing them again soon, that will be very untidy, not sure I can bring myself to sit through it lol

The boo when Cam Smith was on the big screen during that grand final was
Immense, even funnier was the next day a Storm official was on the radio saying the crowd should have been censured haha, what a moron

The noise inside the ground when Menzies scored, I don’t think I’ll ever hear anything like that again, 80,000 in the stadium going ballistic

It's probably a bit of living in the past with any talk of bringing back Papali'i.

I mean he's in form but, you know, he's retired from rep footy. Like Langer in 2001, they brought him back through desperation.
