Our core wouldn’t be the big match pros they are without Origin. You cop some injuries and some tired players but you get guys that win you premierships.

This series has been lacking the intensity but usually theyre the most pulsating games of the year. Dogs Panthers was a more gripping contest than either Origin by a margin this year.

Problem with Origin this year is that NSW is too good. Strangled the life out of the contest on the first game, and the second was managed to create a fast finish. As I have said before, my heart was beating through my chest in Origin 2 so I thought it was a pretty exciting finish.

Goal kicking and 9 straight penalties beat NSW in game 2. NSW will be more disciplined for this game and you wouldn't think they could miss that many goals again, if given the chance.

Queenslanders and the media making out like it was some kind of miracle performance by QLD in game 2 are kidding themselves. Even Slater know this, hence the changes to a winning team.

Perth was also played in a monsoon. Apart from those conditions just being a leveller for an inferior team, the Blues were dominated by Panthers who just suck in the wet for whatever reason. Throw in kicking being so important in the wet and our primary kicker had a bung groin.
