Last night had the hallmarks of a Laurie Daley coached team. Eerily similar to what we have seen in the past.

Cheating cap or not I've never seen a Melbourne Storm team play like that. Lack of effort and an inability to adapt to the situation are not things you associate with Bellamy.

So the point stands. That wasn't a Craig Bellamy coached side. Likewise the 2024 blues were not an Ivan Cleary coached side.

Hardly disgraceful losses. Melbourne just got outplayed.

Last night's first half was extremely bad. A half of football I've never seen Melbourne play.

It technically doesn't rank above grand final wins but for me its my favourite game of football I reckon. One of the most nerve racking games of football I've ever watched.

The week before against the Eels was absolutely brilliant as well. No idea how we scraped through that one. Dylan was huge.

QLD completely killed any chance of Cleary getting clean or effective ball. They were lying all over the ruck, had sleepers everywhere in the play-the-ball, and their line speed was ridiculous — they were 1–2 metres in front of Klein most plays.

The media and commentators always judge a ref’s performance based on how few penalties are blown. Last night’s game was the result of that mindset — just let everything go and hope for the best. I thought it was a terrible game because of it.

Credit to Billy and QLD though — they knew Klein wasn’t going to blow the whistle after Game 2, and they played to that perfectly. But there’s no way in hell a normal NRL game would’ve been allowed to be that slow and messy around the ruck. Just made the whole thing feel disjointed.

Media and public opinion is what decides these things. Right now to any non panther fan hes a great club half who looks like he cant deliver at the rep level. Only his performance can change that.

Not all of us really care that much about the legacy of NC or other individual players. As long as Penrith have successful seasons and win premierships, that's what I care about. The individual accolades are a bonus for those players and the fans who really support them as favourites.
Joey Johns is an immortal, but he only won 1 proper premiership with the other being half a comp. Point made.

As a spectator it was easy to identify. If they are rushing up you have to make changes. We were a disjointed team that couldn't adapt on the fly.

In recent weeks Penrith have been angels around the ruck. Particularly against the Warriors. But I bet we start testing the waters in the coming matches to see what the refs will let us do.
