Yep. Ennis played Farah right into a spot in 2011.

But on the good side .... very good games from ...

Bird - he had great go forward and looked dangerous all game
Gallen - the guy is a tank
TLL - ran at em like a steam train (I doubted him for the series, now he'd be one of my first picked)
Gordon - looked keen and did his best each time he got the ball
Hayne - nice to see some line and tackle breaks - now lets translate that to premiership games
Mannah - best 11 minutes of the game .... the poor guy looked like mr odd man out in the rooms at halftime - seriously, you can't not play a prop in the first half and only give him 11 minutes all game ... he was better than snowden and king
Barrett - great captains game!


On the flip side ...

Watmough - was utter sh*t - i'd consider him the best running backrower in the NRL but man he was crap last night ... can't defend for sh*t! - and did nothing else but not score that try

Beau Scott - FMD - destroyed everything that went out wide .... he's not a centre - he might work for stg in the NRL cos they play dull, but not at SOO level .... and for a guy who is supposed to be there for defense, he was sh*t defensively in both games 2 and 3 - he only works in the dragons system

what a great morning to wake as a qlder, i'm just glad nsw hav decided to at least make it a competition again. also it was great to see hayne getting his confidence back as the game went on. 5 and 3! 5 and 3! 5 and 3!!!!!!

I'm not going to read back thru the thread to see if anyone else has mentioned it.

Timmy overplayed his hand the poor bugger. He was absolutely stuffed after 10 mins and Bellamy had no option but to take him off. He will be better for the run in 2011.

Having said that he probably seen some action prior to the 50min mark. :?

I'd wouldnt have either Ennis or Farah to be honest...Gidley cold play 80 at 9 and chuck a decent utility at 14 or another forward.

A disgrace. Am I right in saying that Mick Vella was not used at all from the SOO bench one year ?

Close. He was given one minute of game time off the bench in one game. Think it was Wayne Pearce was coach in the days of unlimited interchange. He put Vella on and then hoiked him off a minute later, he probably didn't even get a chance to touch the ball or make a tackle.

You've got no front rowers in the starting line up, i don't rate king, he wasn't good, but i never expected him to be, 162kg of wasted fat. I'd have Luke Douglas over him, Hindmarsh in the 10 and TLL on the bench for the impact, hes a more gun 2nd rower to me.
I don't agree with Morris selection, i was all for his debut in game 1 but thinking twice about it now, especially after he butchered the Hayne pass that Burty would catch even on a bad day.
Gasnier i wouldn't mind seeing again, but thats if he ever returns to the form of his glory days.

I thought Morris was sh*t, but I'd like to see him get another shot. I'm sick of them picking centres on the wing.

In regards to Soward. If there's anything that this year's origin season teaches us, it's that Dragons players CANNOT play in a side not coached by Wayne Bennett. Weyman, Scott, Creagh, Morris, Cooper, ughhh they were easily NSW's worst performers this series. Soward is not worth the risk cause he'd be the same.

On Walsh, yep half a season of good form. What more does he have to do? Prove that he's a permanent first grader rather than a bloke who's on a hot streak with 40 odd NRL games experience whose side is on a hot streak at the moment. Great talented player, but it's not like he's been knocking on the door NSW selection for years. A month ago if someone suggested Luke Walsh for origin it'd be like "Luke..... who?"
