50,000 pounds.

That'd make a difference in Tasmania RL.

Scotland though? lol

how much do you think £50k is?? lol

it won't go far
That's enormous!! If bowes' figures are correct, 4 senior and 4 junior teams...

Here in Greece we have 6 (full) senior teams and we get ZERO ? in funding! 50 grand could go a hell of a long way!...

50k is enough to employ 2 development officers. Or a full time national development manager and a part time development officer.

Then you can use this time to not only support clubs being established, but source funding.

To Scotland's credit they have got a few good sponsors on board.

In comparison to countries like Russia, Greece, Ukraine etc. they've been able to build a structure with volunteers.

This is exactly why I cringed when I read that first post, I knew a bunch of inflated figures would soon follow....

Squads of 75 players? come on...

Sadly, that is fairly typical. To get 17 on a pitch, you need several times that in number of players. The strategy is not to split into two teams until you have about 75 open age players. There are two new clubs being founded in Sweden, and plans for one more in Denmark.

This also includes junior teams associated with the clubs, who are obviously going to play in rugby league but not be included in open age teams. Grossly inflated figures would have included school kids who have been introduced to the game, they have not been.

Certainly, though, it is not going to rival the huge pace of Greece or Spain.

Scotland get about £50K from SportScotland. If they can't use that money to develop the sport then something is wrong.
Yeah the state of the game is:

National League
Aberdeen Warriors
Edinburgh Eagles
Ayrshire Storm (only played their 3 home fixtures)
Glasgow Panthers (pulled out after 3 games)

National League 1
Aberdeen Warriors 2nd team
Aberdeen Warriors 3rd team
Glasgow Panthers 2nd team (pulled out midseason)

Fife Lions and Moray Titans folded before the season started in National League 1 so Aberdeen Warriors 3rd were late replacements
