Statement from SFX Sports - Josh Dugan

Nth-Qld-Raider

SFX Sports would like to clarify the situation of one of their clients Josh Dugan and the recent speculation on his playing future.

There have been reports in the media recently that Josh has signed with another club other than his current one the Canberra Raiders and he and his management would like to deny and such dealings. Not only would this be inconsistent it would be fanciful.

Josh has instructed SFX that he will wait till the end of the 2010 season to make a decision on his future and backed his abilities on the field before making a final decision.

Furthermore, a direct statement from Josh today says he has never personally clashed with officials at the Raiders club and denies any reports that he has made up his mind to leave for the Roosters or any other club in 2012 after falling out with Canberra's Coach and Chief Executive.

"I have never had any "face to face" personal arguments or problems with anyone at the Raiders, Josh Dugan said. "I wish to say publicly that I am fully committed to playing football with the Raiders until I decide my future."

"I have simply decided to wait until the end of the year before I make a decision and have not had any dealing s or negotiations with any other NRL clubs."

Sounds something like an article i looked over just before neil henry decided to go elsewhere.
If at the end of 2010 he decides his going elsewhere then he should be pushed back to sths logan(if thats our feeder club in 2011).

Schif wrote a letter to the fans saying how much he loved the club, wasn't going anywhere and wasn't in talks with anyone two weeks before he signed with the Reds.

I reckon Dugan's gone.

I like to think we cant pigeon hole Dugan in the same boat as Henry and Choc. But we have been burnt before .

All the article really says is he cant make a decision until the end of the year , which is when he can legally sign with another club. If it's anounced now then it's an illegal signing .

Does that sound like Dugan speaking to you

obvious damage control by sfx, and dugan just signed his name on a prepared statement.

If dugan was to leave canberra than the nrl need to step in and offer a concession towards the raiders. Its fact use have to pay 10-20% more to get players down there...What is the point of developing a junior just to loose him.I hate when it happens at parra but the difference is we can attrat big name players which canberra cant

That statement really smacks of someone who is a) gone and b) a wanker.

Why did he feel the need to get his agent to do it for him? He could have told the clubs media manager to put him in touch with the ABC or 9 or whoever and made a brief statement himself to put it to bed.

Why would SFX release this statement refuting all rumours, when they've been the ones leaking the rumours in the first place

That is not how Josh Dugan talks ... I am on his Facebook friends list, and every second word he uses is "bra" (for brother). My favourite non-Dragons player, and an absolute legend, but the bloke couldn't put two sentences together to save his life.

Definitely a pre-written statement which he just "OK"-ed in my opinion.

But FMD, if he goes to the Roosters out of all the clubs in the NRL, all respect for him would be gone. Straight away. Just like that.

Just waiting any day now to hear the Rorters have also signed Gasnier ......
