Jebus.. that's terrible..

No-one should have to see a family member on life support, let alone a family member in the prime of their life..

Excuse my ignorance, but what happened to him?

Would anyone know if it is football related, did he take a knock?

Terrible news - thoughts are with his family.

He played Saturday night for the Cutters. This is very sad news, thoughts and prayers are with his family. I'm a Tigers supporter and having heard something tragic from my club earlier this year I really hope the same thing hasn't happened here.

Lets just say there are no suspicious circumstances involved, I'm sure you guys can put 2 and 2 together.

Regardless of what happened, I don't think it is in anyone's best interests to guess. Hopefully you guys can all just pass on your best wishes and wait to hear some more news. Please show some respect for this young bloke and his family in this difficult time.

"Critical condition" an upgrade on "life support", or are they synonymous.

Once again, best wishes to Alex and family.

I hope he pulls thru and send best wishes to his family

but if this was not an accident (not speculating) then the NRL needs to do something about the pressure on young players considering the the death of a Tigers player.

Very sad news, hope he somehow recovers

exactly mate,

Both polynesian also, with out a doubt more money to be invested into this area of the game.
Also more maori & polynesian expertise and focus and acknowledgment in general.

The same focus as they 'bush' - where everybody is screaming about the Bush and the support they need etc. Or comments about Anzac days being Australias day .....

This isnt just an australian sport anymore - at least it is a trans-tasman competition and need to be given the strategy and support to cater to these needs.

Lucky they have NZRL ex-boss Jim Doyle he should understand this a bit more.

Terrible journalism from ABC, I see they've pulled their story now that the Cowboys twitter account said it was false

I was hoping (in a way - if it had to occur) it was accurate, sounded like an accident - strange surroundings, possibly walking in his sleep.

Reading on another forum I frequesnt that in a very typical DT angle they have run the statement from the Cowboys requesting privacy but linked Lifeline & Beyond Blue basically subverting the intent of the Cowboys request.
