Alf Duguid Stand @ Campbelltown Stadium

Gidday Jam,

Please excuse my ignorance here. Was Alf an old West player. or was he an official out that way. I can't find him in my list of old Roo players.

I am not trying to be a smart arse here, I'd just like to know a bit more about Alfs past. Can you help me here.

Cheers

Yeah, Alf wasn't a player for Wests but however he was responsible for bringing Rugby League to Campbelltown. He was a Referee/Official for the Campbelltown Kangaroos (AFL) for 30 years before switching to Rugby League where he coached for another 30 years. I don't know for sure but he may have brought the Magpies from Lidcome to Campbelltown.

A suburb south of Wollongong has it's streets named after league lengends.
Yup, Barrack Heights. And I do have the misfortune of living there, Mt Druitt by the Sea.
Luckily they did Provan, Messenger, Gasnier and missed Raper. Imagine the price of real estate on Raper Rd.
At least most of the inhabitants would have to be saints fans.

Serious time here ......

Team ear would fair dinkum like to know if these Streets exist. Can you help me out here.

Pssssts and me wifes uncle lived at Barrack Point I think it was south of Shell harbour...... long time ago now.

Cheers

Yep, Barrack Point. Just look it up on a Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama Street directory on the web. You'll find em all there.

By the way, Barrack Point is just north of Shellharbour, Bass Point is south (but no houses there). And notice Shellharbour, one word... and locals don't pronounce the 'h'. "ShellARba".
;-)
Actually mate I noticed it's more like "Sh'arba"

It's a great place though.
One of the best spots in NSW.
