Smith was recovering from injury at the start of the year, but since round 10 he's started every game.
As for Horo, he was as bad as Lasalo (worse even) through the first half of the year. It's only in the last month or two that Lasalo's form has gone downhill.
Also, Kearney may see Horo as better suited coming off the bench. Starting doesn't necessarily mean the player is ahead of the benchies in the pecking order, though Kearney does seem to start his best players rather than hold them in reserve.
If everyone was available I still reckon our edges would be:
12. Smith
13. Maitua
15. Horo
Bearing in mind Smith and Horo have played some of their games at centre, here are their attacking stats (LBAs are in the other thread):
G/TB/LB/T/Name
22/39/7/4 Horo
22/22/2/2 Lasalo
07/18/2/3 Maitua
22/22/6/5 Smith
These are quick and nasty stats I got off Fox Sports. Their defensive stats would say a lot as well, but I couldn't be arsed going through the stats sites compiling them, plus they would need to be broken down by position.
What we can see here is that Horo and Maitua are a lot better at breaking tackles than the other two, though Ben Smith can still make a break and score a try.
Also I don't rate Horo as a defender. I think he's worse than Lasalo.
