See you maccasboy, can't wait till your next meal break so I can pleasure myself again.

I'm sure he is, but don't you think that's better done in person than calling him fat in a newspaper?

Yes....of course you're right.

Extreme tactics from Sterlo.....?

Frustrated as f*ck....??

I know I was, watching Sandow .......

Does Sterlo have any official role in the club to be in a position to do so though? His role is in the media these days and that's his opinion and he's entitled to it.

Maybe the trainers are working at bulking him up. Maybe they think it might help with his defense. Possibly with an eye to shifting him to the 2nd row. Who knows?

couple of things with this . . .

1. He has been indifferent. He kicked a winning field goal, and pretty much kicked us to victory against manly.
2. He has scored the majority of our points.

On sterlo

SHould give himself a massive uppercut. The club is in a very bad spot at the momment and the last thing they need from a former great is to have him come out in the media and put it on their current halfback about being overweight. I mean at the very least what was he expecting to get from making these comments?

Very poor IMO

Whether he has an official position or not is irrelevant. He's part of the furniture, and just like when Kenny or Cronin bag our side, he should shut up.

It must frustrate Sterlo seeing what a rabble the club is these days, and the effort players are putting in compared to when he and other Eels legends were winning premierships. He's one of the more knowledgeable media commentators so it's interesting to see what he has to say.

I want to know why he's bagging the players when it's obviously the coach's fault.

So you want to bag arguably our greatest player. He is probably fed up with how the team is going after 6 rounds. I think its great that someone has finally got the guts to say what he thinks. Sandow has been a major disappointment and yes he is unfit and overweight. He was disgraceful last week. Maybe by making these comments, this player, who looks like he is here for the money, might start to have a dig. Don't blame the rest of the players or the fact that we are losing. Individually he needs to step up.

You can bag Sandow for his last game but he's been one of our best so far this season:

3 tries
2 try assists
1 linebreak
4 linebreak assists

Plus a field goal and 11 from 13 goalkicking. That's in six games.

He only took the line on 16 times in our first five games but against the Knights he ran 11 times for big metres, plus he broke six tackles. And Sterlo picks now to call him fat and lazy?

By comparison Jarrod Mullen ran the ball twice and got man-of-the-match.

Sandow might have taken a few wrong options (you can put that down to his teammates still learning how to run off him) but it's bullshit to say he looked disinterested against the Knights.

Sandow certainly has solved our half back woes :sarcasm:

i listened to the call and it was framed by a caller question asking "do you think sandow is the worst signing of the season" so sterlo did well to not directly answer the question. instead he paused for that and came up with something which at least offers some constructivity.

doubt that changes your mind, but thought it was important to point that out

I would have said so too but surely that was the game
We bought him for?

Fair point.

But his 11 runs, 75 metres and six tackle breaks shows he at least tried.

More than Sandow needing to learn to play with his teammates, this team needs to learn how to play with a halfback. Because it's been f**ken ages since we had one.

Hope Tonga learns soon. He's done nothing since getting here.

Interesting to know that. Whether fans like it or not Sterlo has a job in the media and if someone phones in and asks him a question it's his job to give an honest answer, or at least address the issue in the very least. It's a bit different to Ray Price giving a few comments to a 'journalist' from the Daily Telegraph. Sterlo is employed as in the media himself and is supposed to give his view, I don't see how anyone can say he's done anything wrong.
