I guess you've all heard Sterlo's ridiculous comment by now: "I can't find a place for Gal in my NSW 17."

What a joke!

So, NSW-hating Mal picks him for AUS, but he's not good enough for NSW?

Apparently Josh Jackson, Bryce Cartwright & James Tamou are better than Gal...

Why are we all worrying about what just one TV commentator says about his Origin squad? And why the hell is Gal frothing about it? Everyone's entitled to their opinion right or wrong.

Sterlo does not pick it Laurie does and he has man love for Gal.

I predict Gallen will be 13 and (c)

Tamou, Woods, Klemmer, Merrin, Jackson and Gallen will be the middle third forwards.

With Farah if - is in doubt - fit, Ennis if not.

Lozza is a predictable dude.

Sterlo has always been one of the best commentators, and judges, of Rugby League.
I always respected his opinion but this season he seems a little off.
I noticed that he has been just about cheering for Parra when he's commentating their game, this never happened before and he had always tried to sound unbiased.
But I weally, weally noticed something was amiss during, and after, last weeks game between Saints and Raiders. He kept reiterating that it was a great game of rugby league. Without doubt it was the worst game this season, a terrible, terrible spectacle. Even my Saints friends said it and could not believe that Sterlo was praising it so much.
In conclusion, I dont think Sterlo's mind is right just now so dont worry too hard.

Maybe he's finally lost it after decades of Eels heartbreak!
What does bug me about him, even when he's 'in his right mind' is how much he goes on about QLD... Yes, I know, he's trying to be unbiased, but you never hear Qlders praise NSW. It's just not in the spirit of Origin...

IMHO Sterlo has been reminded by Channel 9 management to talk up the games he is commentating on, its meant to keep the viewers watching rather than switching over or switching off.

As for the Gal comment, I think it may have been deliberate to fore up Gal. If that's the case, then watch out Manly.

Gal would be my first pick. Mostly for his defence in the middle. I can at least cop an argument on a prop basis that some would rather woods, klemmer, afif, tamou. But when gal covers prop and lock, you'd have to be an imbecile to want josh Jackson in your side instead of him.

Tamou hasent lived up to expectations. His size should be enough but he has become dead slow and it takes a while for an idea to get to his hands. Klemmer was a standout last SSO and he and Gal would be my first picks. Woods is simply read and easy for the defence ( no not simply red) . Who else is there?

He also had Jack Bird in the centres - he obviously hasn't watched a lot of Cronulla this year.

Maybe not but this Bird kid has the whole RL world conned IMO. He's always been a bloke who would play origin, I even thought he was a chance last year but fekk me, his form hasn't been a patch on what he did last year even. He is simply not a centre's quoit.

I actually don't the know if he has a position. May as well be called Jack Gidley

People are hypersensitive in here BB. Seems to me that many go looking for negativite news stories to whine about when in reality all these media people talk shiit that is all simply designed to boost TV ratings, website hits or newspaper sales. A few days ago it was lets hate MG and now it moves to Sterlo. Next week Benny Ikin might get a turn or perhaps Lara Pitt.
