Steve Price for coach??

[FONT=&quot]We are terrible. Have no doubt about it, on current form we are the worst team in the comp.

There is obviously a problem. I felt sorry for Price at the start of the season. I thought he was on a hiding to nothing. Taking over from the master coach and with a playing roster that wasn't quite there.

But I have now seen way too many tactical errors, positional swaps that didn't work and very bad use of the interchange bench. He also quite obviously can't motivate the team.

I am firmly convinced that we are taking a low cost strategy this year and next (both in players and coaching). The aim is to go hard in 2014. Maybe Bellamy? Who knows? But we can't have another season with this muppet. Steve Folkes is there. Use him for one year and grab someone good for 2014. Price just can't cut the mustard.

Sorry the title should have been Steve Folkes for Coach? I blame the Jim Beam, Doust, Price, Hornby and Prior for the typo.

Well as many of know I have defended Steve Price all season, much to the annoyance of many, but after tonight I agree with Hardbaby. Folks until the end of 2013.

It's easy to blame the coach. We simply don't have the cattle, especially when Beau, Coops etc. are only good for celebrity appearances.

Nathan Green isn't close to a first grader.

We are being made pay for poor recruitment. Those who bag Hornby should ask themselves, who is
pressuring his place in the team? We have huge depth in a few positions, and none in others.
Doust is the common denominator here.

Totally agree Gypsy. But I have stuck up for Price. No longer. He is a terrible coach. He has to go. And we have a ready-made replacement as the Assistant Coach.

If Hornby made us his mind and retired some one like Jacob Miller would come to the club with some kind of confidence he would play first grade same goes for Fien.

What young half is going to want to sit behind a guy who is clearly past his used by date because the coach is useless and has no idea or doesn't want to see he need to go.

I think we need to get a new coach, the team has gone backwards dramatically its hard to bare. We bought Kemp and resigned Goodwin yet these strike players were nowhere to be seen all season. He took no risks and stuffed around with our best player Jamie Soward at a crucial time too.

Price is a dud, our forward pack is a dud with the exception of rein and merrin. A handful of players busting their gut week in week out in amongst 12 other duds. The only players worth mentioning are Morris, Rein and Vidot after tonights match. Sack the coach, tell hornby, cooper and fein to retire. Bring in cummins to fullback beale and vidot to centre, morris and nightingale on the wing. Sign a talented young half(Jacob Miller) and shape him into a top player like we did with soward. Sort out our forward pack by releasing the duds or "fringe" players who aren't doing enough like josh miller, ah mau, latimore, kemp etc who are just a waste of the salary cap. With that money buy 2 or 3 top line forwards who can actually make a dent in the defensive line. And lastly bring in an experienced coach who demands respect from the team and knows what the hell he's meant to do.

Thats a long list but i feel like thats what we need in order to get ourselves out of this very deep hole steve price dug for us.

IMO it's not all Prices fault.

There are two types of success in Rugby League. You can build an empire from the ground up, like Bellamy has....or you can buy instant success.

We chose the latter four years ago. Bought an existing high profile coach, and a few key big names.
It was never going to last. Our title in 2010 was a result of cold, hired hands.

People bagging Price about losing what Bennett built, need to realise it was never anything to begin with.

This coaches player selection, game plans has destroyed the teams cohesion and completely destroyed the team harmony in less than one year destroying what Bennett installed in three years just to stamp his so called style of play and authority what a failure and a fall from grace for this proud club, can't even. make the top ten yet alone top eight what a failed experiment from doust and price. We don't even have next year to look foward too he will just dish the same rubbish

Price should have been sacked months ago. The writing has been on the wall for ages and sensible people on this forum have been pointing that out all along. Surely it won't cost that much to pay him out for 2013.

It's also time to ask Doust and Craig Young to step down. No excuses, along with Price these two gentlemen are responsible for the state we are in.

Hornby, Fien, Cooper and Young should be tapped on the sholder and sent to the Cutters for the rest of the season. Tell them (xmpt Young) it is likely they will be playing for the Cutters next year. If we are going to get flogged for the rest of the season and next year, it may as well be with some young legs who can learn from the experience.

Also send Vidot and Pror back to the Cutters for the remainder of the year. If it's good enough for Soward to be dropped, then it's good enough for others to do the same. I think Vidot would be best suited to a spot in the forwards and needs to go back and be skilled up as a forward. Prior should be considered as a fringe player and only be selected when his form improves.

Goodwin to fullback and Nightingale to the right wing.

Give the halfback from the Cutters or NYC a run in the Dragon's side.

Start searching for a new coach now, let Folkes control the last few games. We need to cut the bad vibes right out of the squad and see what we have got for next year.

Shit, And to think I like others, bagged Brown when he couldn't get results. Sorry Nathan, my apologies,You have it all over this current muppet. Sorry but this Dragons team is woeful, Coached just as woefully. The team has a smell of mediocrity about it that disappoints the shit out of me. Put simply, The current coach can't cut it as a first grade coach. The question is how long will Doust sit on his hands before the coach is dumped? Will it take another three games of tripe or another long, Shithouse season with a possible wooden spoon attached to it? I hate playing pessimist but enough is enough. For such a well known and supported brand, It's simply not good enough.

- The funny thing is that we dont seem too far off the mark, but the amount of bad last passes/kicks/decisions just keeps on keeping on each week, you basically just expect it to happen, and anything else is a miracle.

- And with a couple of extra talented players that we should have in a 1st grade squad, we would probably win a lot more games because we would score more points... but we do seem devoid of any structure this year to be fair also, and that sits on Price. Of course sometimes its the chicken & the egg.. Success breeds Confidence which breeds Success.. and everything seems easier when you're winning.

- Poor Soward tonight though, came on and through 2 balls basically over the sideline, then he was partially responsible for the tigers first try & gave away a penalty defending another.. but he settled in a bit later on in the game, he still sort of just runs into nothing plays on the fringes, but hes the best we have, and as ive said 1000 times, we need his kicking game, especially his goalkicking.

- Chase's goalkicking, I think he was like 5/5 then missed every one since? He looks so stiff and nervous, its like he doesnt want to be doing it at all, sort of like russian roulette almost atm, its seemingly no fluke he kicked the first 5/5, but psychologically something is going on, then again he probably had no idea he would be stuck with the job until Kyle did his knee.

Agree with all the comments ron this thread. I think Dousty thought he could get a team into the semis on the cheap.

Regarding the comments on Jacob Miller, I think we were on the money there for a while, but I have heard he went cold on us and has re-signed the Tigers. Back to the drawing board.

Gees we should be careful what we wish for. I know he won the comp in 04, but correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Folks win a Wooden Spoon in his last season as a head coach in the NRL at the Dogs? From memory it was a half reasonable side too.

In any case there is no way in this world Dousty will do anything like this. Much to our frustration he is obviously prepared to put 2012/13 down in the books as 'A work in progress'.

I'd rather be a young up and coming team relying on youth and potential next season, than an old boring mediocre (at best) team.

Time for the broom and the garbage bin................its spring cleaning time! No one should be safe, the clean out needs to start at the top.
