Storm appoint Darren Bell as new Recruitment Manager
Tuesday, October 16, 2007
Melbourne Storm would like to announce the vacant Recruitment Manager's position has been filled by Darren Bell.
Bell replaces Peter O'Sullivan who left at the end of the 2007 season to take up a similar role with the Sydney Roosters.
Storm CEO Brian Waldron believes Bell will bring a lot of football experience to the role.
"We went through a long process and we're very pleased Darren's accepted the role," said Waldron.
"He has a wealth of football experience which is extremely important when considering the integral part this position plays in our long term success.
"Darren also has a tremendous network throughout Australia and New Zealand that will be of great assistance to us."
Bell has spent the last 16 years involved in junior and senior rugby league in Brisbane. His previous roles included junior and senior coaching positions, Coaching Director, Brisbane Junior Rugby League Selector and Under-19 Brisbane Selector.
He has also been on the Brisbane Division Coaching Panel, and Team Manager of the Brisbane City Representative side.
He spent numerous years as a Senior Club President and Board Member of the Brisbane Rugby League.
Seems smart to replace him with some-one from QLD. Big shoes to fill though.
