Storm Rape Allegations

It seems many people like to discuss rape allegations, since there is about 1000 on the Dogs. Funny thing is I can't find anything about the Melbourne Storm allegations. The one against two un-named players. The one that wasn't reported to the NRL until more than a month afterwards. The one Gallop hasn't been so vocal about. The one the media hasn't really mentioned.

What is going on with that ?

Nothing much has been printed about the actual investigation so I really can't say. It was reported a couple of days ago that charges were unlikely.

The Bulldogs created the headlines for themselves by

- Leaving Coff's Harbor before questioning
- Having a 'truth' session
- Making vulgar remarks to the media
- Publicly criticising and humilating the girl and labelling her as a s**t
- And more

The Bulldogs have done all of the above. The Storm haven't.

If the Bulldogs didn't carry on like they did, it wouldn't be covered much, but they were very outspoken all of the time on the issue.

There is nothing worse than a person who has suffered misfortune, rightly or wrongly who then wishes that same misfortune on others.

- they had already booked flights
- the truth session was for the club to find out what happened
- the vulgar remarks are unattributed and 24 players are prepared to sign a stat dec saying they didn't say it
- who called her a s**t? Hasn't happened since the night at coffs harbour where they rejected her advances

More?

And it was well and truely over-exposed before the the bulldogs could comment.

Don't get me wrong. I don't wish these allegations on any club. I'm just trying to point out the double standards running here.

And even before the alleged comments, or the truth meeting, Gallop came out and was talking about possible punishments and calling for the players to be named.

Where is he on the Storm. I havn't heard a word. It's simple...if the media doesn't report it, the NRL doesn't want to know about it.

when the storm thing came public it was said they would remain unamed because there was no doubt the 2 had sex wit the girl but it was unknown if there was "rape" involved

I will add that I don't believe they should be named.

The victim and those accused should stay confidential during investigations IN ALL CASES not just high profile ones.

It is Double Standards. Happens to *suspected* repeat offenders all the time.

Fair enough, especially in regards to your media and the NRL's lack of action until the media gets wind of things comment.

Can you confirm that the truth session was anything other than officials trying to find out what happened?

Can you provide the names of those who made vulgar remarks?

Who labelled her a s**t publicly? Can you provide that quotation, name and source for me?

It was reported before easter that the two Storm players had no case to answer, based on police investigations.

The two Storm players were reported to have *fully* co-operated with police in their investigations. The only problem with this case from the NRL's point of view was that it wasn't reported to them by the Storm. The NRL found out about it the same way all of us did, through the media. John Ribot paid the price for not informing David Gallop and News Ltd.

Was there "insufficient evidence"?
Did the police say "They are innocent"?
Where is a link to this story?
