I really don't care about gambling joints being major sponsors, minor sponsors, jersey sponsors, stadium sponsors etc etc etc. The only thing that sh*ts me is the commentators talking about the odds every 4 seconds. I'm curious how much the betting agencies spend on that because I heard live betting is relatively small time. How ever much it is it's not worth it. So bloody annoying.

they did the sponsorship story in sport as if it was a bad and terrible thing to link with Crown Casino

at the end of the sport they gave horse racing tips and odds from Alan Eskander (i think it was him) which is promoting gambling. i'd guess he pays Ten for that to be read too.

wouldn't be surprised if 9 do the same thing. 9 don't have a problem promoting gambling in the footy and cricket though

People can only be given so much information, counselling and education. before the onus is on them to make informed choices and take responsibility for their actions. It's the same as any other vice.

I don't agree with pokie machines outside of casinos though. I think the harder you make things to get at the fewer problems arise.

Would prefer the clubs get the $$$ than the casinos. People blow money away, what difference does it make if it's at a club or a casino? The same argument can be made about alcohol. Can't have the unfortunates drinking away their dough locally. If you want booze, you should have to go to the casino.

Nine had no rugby league in their sports news, 7 ran the story negatively but then had a story on carney in north qld and then Ben Ross who is making his comeback. I'm liking the extra attention 7 is giving rugby league these days, I hope they pick up some rights at least!

Crown have never sponsored a team in this type of comp before be it league, soccer or union so this is a great piece of news.

It will certainly keep them financially viable for a while.
