Shows you the depth the Storm have when they can smash the Premiers even with players resting.
Our current side scarcely resembles the premiership side. Obviously the squad has been beset by a heap of injuries, players have left, new guys signed while others are out of form... As a comparison:

Interestingly, when the Bulldogs played the Tigers last year they also fielded only 9 of their 17 from the previous year's GF side. Another point of similarity is that both teams had relative stability in the forward pack while the backlines are almost entirely new. BTW I'm sure that there were other times when Bulldogs were even further afflicted by injuries.
After this year I can appreciate the adversities faced last yr by teams like Canterbury, Roosters, Canberra & Knights. At full strength, currently EVERY side bar Souths would be capable of finishing between 3 and 14. Last year there were no fantastically good or bad sides ie anyone could've finished anywhere. On the other hand, you only have to go back to 2004 and the drop from say 6th (Melbourne?) to 8th place (Canberra) was enormous with Cowboys tenuously bridging the gap.
BTW I'm not using this as a pretext for the flogging last night. Wests were simply terrible + humiliated by the clasiest side around. Hopefully the team will show more guts in their remaining games.
