Well, if that's true, I would be deeply embarrased if I had gone on a rant about the retention policy without any real idea of what was going on behind the scenes.....

imagine if you did that, you'd be looking like a prized goose if this signing becomes offical

Still grinding that axe eh Matty.
Keep it up son, one day we just might need it. ;-)

Reminds me of a South Park quote:

Mr. Garrison: Remember children, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Actually, those lefties in america dont have to vote unlike aussies. Whether or not they vote is unknown. It doesnt matter to them, they poke fun at anyone.

Just like R69.

Imagine a world where people asked THEMSELVES a few hard questions...

Seriously, people in the club know much better than you or I what's going on - sometimes you just have to accept that you don't have enough facts to spout off like this.

If you guys get Flanagan he will be the starting hooker. Only a coach with the nous of Royce Simmons wouldn't see it this way.

Flanagan is going to be quite easily one of the best hookers in the comp behind Farah, Smith and Buderus.

When Farah was injured/unavailable, Flanagan was usually first choice ahead of DeGois.

DeGois has gone on to be a good quality hooker himself for the Sharks. Flano is already better than him.

Hinchy and Linc won't be wearing a 9 on their back next uear if you get Flano and he stays healthy.

Possibly one of the best buys any team could make, is snagging Flano.

Got any more chain smoking fat slow old props that you don't want? Plonk him at the doorstep so we can do another magical Tigers swap

Thanks for the feedback dude ... cant say I've seen much of him but it seems as though you guys hold him in high regard.

Does he dislike the big smoke, looking for the country lifestyle?

Id say it has more to do with the fact at the tigers he's stuck behind Farah, so if he wants to make a name for himself he needs a club where the hooker isnt so well entrenched, what better club to do so then one close to home and a club who have a ton of talent, both home grown and aquired thanks to management, along with a representive coach?

He's on a winner imo

I'm not even sure how to respond to this. I don't think I've ever understood a post from you, Matt.

Seems to me that there a number of clubs in the Sydney district that are short of a quality #9 and in a good position to entice the youngster if his intentions are to remain in Sydney.

Reading an article of him written in Oct 2006 indicates he returned home to take care of his sick mother in Cooma ... hence my question regarding his want to return close to family.

I'm not certain at all, but I think he resigned with the Tigers before Farah did. There was some talk Farah was going to the Bulldogs a season or two ago, but instead he renewed his contract with the Tigers.

Flanagan is looking to get paid his worth and to prove his worth. He'd deserve 125k easily and you'll get your money out of him.

He is a country boy, and he does like it at the tigers, but no one is going to get a start there ahead of Farah.

He can play a bit of halfback, but he's much better at hooker.

I know this suggestion may go down quicker than a $2 hooker on time and a half, but would it be worthwhile considering Withers at Half?

If anything for his defence. He wouldn't need to do a great deal at all what with Carney beside him.

Withers is a woeful half. We have an up and coming half in Marc Herbert whom the club values highly.
