Stuart Raper

Probably the most pleasing aspect for me in this game was coach Stuart Rapers antics when Matt Riek scored that final try. He wore his heart on his sleeve which we have yet to see him do. He was jumping up and down willing Riek every step of the way, then high fived and hugged all the bench players.

While no one ever doubted his passion for the sharks it is great to see it final coming out in his coaching. Lets hope he can instill some more of this in the boys as it has been a critisim of them lately.

It was a great perfomance all round and lets hope it is just the start!
Bring on next week

Im speechless ....

Peachs post match interview indicated that Raper was the diffference in his game tonight ....peach said he told him two things he should try, and it resulted in his best game for a couple of years(peach thought so)...

Speechless ...GO THE BOYS!!!!!!!!

He said that the boys needed to come out and put on a show for the fans, show them some respect and also he said how its only one game and they really have to get ready for next week aswell. But yeah he went on a bit about how much the boys wanted to play well for the fans for the past few weeks and try and make it up to us, the fans.

Also when Reick scored that try from a noddy assist, while reick was running in the try BK was running behind him with his arms in the air, now that really showed Noddy has pride in his players and his guensey.

Well done Stuey. One thing he said after the game was that he told Peachey to run it back hard from kick returns. Good to see that players like Peachey will respond to him.

I liked the confidence the players showed in Stinky for that try. As soon as he caught it, everyone cheered, cause they KNEW he was in - from 50 odd metres

You can't catch Stinky, hell - my old car couldn't catch Matt Rieck in a fit!

Agreed.

The grin on his face as Stinky raced away was great. Stevo looked pretty happy too.

I thought Kimmorley showed what a champion player he is when he made that bust for Stinky's try - he just kept looking for his support player and stinky was there - great work. A couple of tries went begging in the 1st half because players didn't look for their support.

Just thought I'd bring this thread back to the top for a couple of reasons.
Even if we lost every game this year I would still support Stuart Raper, although I dont know him, I know his brother Kurt.

Used to work with the bloke at the SUS club. Top bloke!!!

He used to tell me that his brother wanted to be the first Coach to bring the Sharkies a premiership, and I would bag the bloke saying that its a long way off..(I said)we'll get one soon....

:blahb:

that was in 95'

The night we won Presidents Cup was around that time (cant remember) think it was the same year I was at the Leagues club i saw Matt Rogers (pissed) walk past me in the crowd with a funny look on his face (prolly becuase he was pissed) Then as I turned around I saw Steve Rodgers (pissed) walk by me with the exact same look on his face.... f**kin funny, I cant explain it in words but I knew there were good times ahead for the Sharks.

And there was...but no trophy's...

Rest assured basking in the afterglow of a great win tonight and seeing Stuart Raper jumpin around on the side-line.....

I couldnt help thinking about workin in the bar with Kurt and remembering the shit we used to talk about, laughing!

There was a certain look in his eyes that was familiar 8)

I have to tell you that I agree with the sentiments in this thread. Stuey Raper and Noddy were certainly very passionate as were the whole side. I would like to single one more bloke out though. Pat Gibson after that try went to every player and slapped high 5's and hugged them. He is pure passion.

Passion with a capital P. I couldnt fault any on the performance but the entusiasim when BK kicked down field was awesome. I could be negaitve about a few palyers but why rain on the parade. The team would have to be fired up even more for next weekend against the eels after last years debacle
