Timana Tahu! If it's true you paid $400,000 per season for him, then that's $250,000 per season too much. Honestly, Luke Burt sure is no Matt Gidley - the most under rated Centre (in rep terms) running around in the NRL at the moment.

Tahu will be half the player without his mate Gidley at inside Centre.

Oh, and I believe Kennedy played more games this year than Tahu.

If its true what you paid for Michael Witt than I know who got the better value for money. As much as I like the kid and think he can progress, he definitely saw Manly coming.

As it is the money reportedly paid to Tahu was done in a similar way that Manly used their gap in the salary cap to buy Kite and Kennedy....

I'd rather spend money on a halfback than a winger with a dodgy ankle. :p

I'd rather spend the money on a centre ;-) with a dodgy ankle than a backrower with a dodgy back, groin, hand, shoulder, knee and ankle. :p

I'd rather spend money of two players that haven't broken their necks in the past two years...

We could go on forever here, people!

Really?

AND you like halfbacks?

So, essentially, what you're saying is is that if Joey became available next year and you had the money you wouldn't want to sign hm. Interesting... You sure know footy.

That was not my point at all.

I was pointing out that we could go on forever about recruiting what people are saying are the wrong players.

It's all subjective and that was my point.

Tahu only got mentioned in here because Witt was mentioned.

This thread only got started because many fans think there is a bit of revenge for not letting Lyon go, and I can see that point, but I can also accept why Parra didn't -- for Lyon walking out, unlike Lueluai.

I know I post in the Parra forum -- and I try and respect that but accepting your guys rules, and only contructive criticsm -- of my club too.

:)

Parramatta have recruited well for next year, i wish we snared Tahu but not for $400K, but on the flipside they still have players like Burt/Vella/Pearson/Wagon/Peterson/Tsoulos who will counteract their good buying!

And for your sake i hope marsh doesn't get injured because those nuffy's you mentioned before wouldn't know how to organise a root in a brothel.

hmmm without taking sides, this ha been a cracking read, keep it up.

(im a manly fan)

Anyway the way i see things despite some of my fellow manly supporters is that both teams have recruited fairly well this year.

I still think Donald and Minogue were 2 of the great buys in recent years, donal isnt a solid defender but he more than makes up for it with the tries he puts on the board.

As for tahu, I was dissapointed not to get him coming our way but also felt he was a bit over rated. His defensive performance in the state of origin and other games i saw left a lot to be desired.

What i saw of witt particularly in PL looked good. With a few older heads like BK, Menzies and Hill around him add Monas leadership quality to it, and I think Witt will come a long way next year.

I do feel that there was a bit of karma in the leluliua incident re: lyon, thomas looked promising in the test matches, but with parras backs and halves recruitment this year I dont feel he will be missed.
