Sunday Pubs in Sydney

I am travellling up for the GF with a mate and we want to get on the beers after the game.

We are staying at a hotel in the CBD near George Street.

Can anyone recommend a good pub to go to for a few beers (nothing flash) on a Sunday night ??.

It's a public holiday Monday, so the city will be on the Grand Final party setting - perhaps somewhere small down in the Rocks might be the go?

It's not really the best night to head out for a couple of quiet ones.

I always did like the Glenmore on Cumberland Street - it's a little out of the road and did tend to have a more relaxed crowd there. Not too far from George St - about a 10 minute amble depending on where your hotel is. Not a bad feed either, but it's been a few years.

I second that, the glenmore is a top pub.

The coopers arms at newtown is another good one.

Glenmore is good, and a bit off the beaten track too.

Also there's another one nearby to there in the Rocks that has pizzas... can't remember the name? Maybe the Australian?

And I've heard good things about Harts Pub tucked away in The Rocks too, but haven't been there.

If you do go to the Glenmore and the weather is good, a beer on the roof is a must!

the bank in newtown was always my favourite sunday haunt..

great bar & awesome thai food if you need a feed..

plus it's right next to the train station so you don't have the hassle of trying to find a cab on grand final night..

None right across the road from my house. In any case I'll only be there in the mornings for breakfast beers

I love the Lord Nelson, shame it's always so long between visits.

You can't go wrong at the Rocks (unless you go to the Orient).

I also enjoy The Criterion, which is a short walk from Town Hall station.

Strawberry hills hotel, just been done up a bit and the food is sensational (and cheap).
