Nah, we woulda' been fine.Chad would have brought it home.
Yeah, like last week, whoops forgot about that. I personally think young flanno has snatched the number 6 Jersey from under Chad's hair.

There is no need to risk giving them the ball back under those conditions, its beyond dumb.

They scored from it, f**k

Teams score from long drop outs all the time as well. After 2 tackles they are on the attack anyway. Harder for teams to attack inside the 10 a lot of the time as well. Then scoring from a barge over after the line was set three tackles after th drop out means nothing in our game plan. It pays off so much it’s worth going for every time.

It’s sports math.

The other factor to bear in mind is this: teams will start wising up to the fact that we like the short drop-out and then stack players close to the 10m line. Which means there will be fewer players standing 40, 50 out, so that is an opportunity to then take a long drop out which won't be caught on the full, forcing the attacking team to go backwards and retrieve the ball. Add in some favourable wind and all of a sudden you have a good opportunity to kick the ball 70m down field.

Flanno has the long kick for that idea. I would still let him go and start Brailey jn with Chad if SJ is out. The starting side has to have Uele and Williams, Prior and Gal on the bench.

Something else I think we should try is a kick and chase either from a scrum or early tackle count from our own 20.
It's a risky play, but nobody would be expecting it and with the wheels on Xerri, I reckon it's try time if the kick is good.

That drop out was dumb.
Wrong time to do it.

You want to go into halftime winning ...not letting them score just before it.

You think Kicking it fifty and having them in the same scoring position after 3 tackles anyway made a difference? Remember they scored off tackle 3 of that set.

How do you know they don’t score anyway like a lot of teams do after dropouts because of sustained pressure?

You win the short drop out they 100% don’t score from the repeat set. You kick it long they still have a chance to score. I’d take chance to win the he ball back every f**king time. I’m looking forward to the day we start kicking short every kick off as well.

A lot of the chance for success is based on the element of surprise.

Although I like the short dropout, doing it every time is dumb.

The short drop out gives us a 50/50 chance of getting the ball back every time. BUT it should only be done when Capes is there, the guy improves our chances of getting it back immeasurably.
I also think that SJ perfected the kick a great deal more so than the others who have tried.

Are you joking or what?

Why give the the other team a full set of 6 on our line just before half time when we are in front?

Do you honestly believe what you are writing right now?

I’m all for it. Short kick offs at the start of the game. Short drop outs. Kicking from a scrum.

Something different. Every coach is a robot these days. Same plays every time.
Try something. The trick play needs back in.
Kick off with a grubber to the sideline. Drive the ball low and hard at the guy standing in front of you.

I find it amazing that on 90% of kickoffs the half and/or 5/8 is in the exact spot the ball will land. Without moving?? Amazing positional awareness.

Do something out of the ordinary for sure, but there is a time and place for it.
When is that time??

At what stage do you pull off the “surprise”

No matter what time, if it works you are a genius. If it doesn’t you lot would blow up.

If you do it when you are behind on the scoreboard it’s desperation.

Can’t win with some of you lot

Agree. I can't stand you lot either.

Some of you haven't played NRL and yet you have an opinion.
