Rob Parker is moving to Warrington

Parker Moves to Wolves from Bulls

Warrington have signed prop forward Rob Parker, 24, from Grand Final winners Bradford on a two-year deal.

"I see Warrington as a team going places. It has a lot of potential with its stadium and fan base," said Parker.

"Warrington have some great coaches and I'm looking forward to being part of the future here."

Meanwhile, England international Ben Westwood has extended his contract with Wolves until 2009 and enthused: "This club is going places."

Westwood, who joined the Wolves midway through the 2002 season from Wakefield, said: "Working with (manager) Paul Cullen has given me the opportunity to develop my game.

"When the chance came to extend my future with the club I did not hesitate, I want to be part of their success.

Boss Cullen was delighted to welcome Parker into his squad and commented: "He's a player we've admired for a considerable period. Our squad is stronger with his inclusion."

Hmmm, just found this:

Austin Buchanan
Position: winger
Dob: 22/5/84
The NL2 Young Player of the Year 2004 was linked with three Super League clubs so his signature just before Christmas came as a wonderful surprise and brilliant present for the fans. Scored 15 tries in 16 games last year after signing from Leeds Academy. Quick, elusive and excellent under the high ball.

Can anyone tell me anything about how he went in 2005?

He was ditched by Leeds but seems to have potential.I watched him in the 2004 NL2 Grand Final and he scored a couple of tries. As with all NL players,he will probably take some time to make the step up,but it depends how he's coached whether he will make the grade or not.

It looks like Wakefield are releasing Michael Wainwright, another young winger to be replaced by him which doesn't really make sense to me,but we'll have to see.

Austin went very well at York in 2004, and there was talk he was heading to Superleague at the same time Danny Borugh was signed, but nothing came of it. Injury meant he only played a few games at the start of this year, and then a few at the very end. Fell into the background compared to Peter Fox efforts for the team this season, a young winger who I think is heading back to Leeds.

Cas are in a huge huge mess at the moment. They have literally about 10 players signed up for next season. The fans are staging protests to get the cheif executive to resign, and they still have no coach after sacking the one that got them promotion.Nasty stuff,I can see them being worse than Leigh if they don't pull something out of the bag soon, which will hopefully prompt the RFL to make Super League a closed shop with possible decided promotion/relegation if clubs are excelling/not pulling their weight.

Just a note on Bradford, they moan about the cap forcing them to release players and then sign people like Chris McKenna and Adam Watene.Maybe if they didn't sign these two they would have been able to keep hold of Peacock etc...

Castleford got Danny Sculthorpe for a year... I guess it's something .

Widnes will be back by 2007, with Peachey and those young Wigan fowards they signed they'll be too good to stay in NL1. Either Wakey or Castleford will go down for certain.

Sculthorpe is a walking penalty machine and reportedly a boozer, but it's a start at least. They've been linked to Mark O'Neill and Lance Thompson, although the money they are reportedly offering O'Neill is ridiculous.

I'm thinking of changing this into a full thing with 2006 squad lists, likely first choice line-ups,jersey pics etc when they are released. What do you reckon?
