As far as I know it was his original squad number, and he's simply held onto it ever since, someone else will be able to confirm though.

I like the look of that combination, but Paul wasn't a serious contender for the #7 at Bradford this season, and I Thorman was never a contender for the GB side - Iestyn Harris & Paul Deacon are (in my opinion) a much better pairing.

Robbie Paul is the worst International playing in super league.

His been used as a sub for 3 years now at Bradford, offering no impact at all.

He would'nt make it at a Bartecard team in NZ nevermind an NRL team, which says it all.

Any player would look bad playing out of position. We'll see what happens come next year.

nd I Thorman was never a contender for the GB side

Thorman was in the initial 40 man squad and was on standby for GB for the Tri Series, although was captain of England at the time.

Harris and Deacon are a good pairing though,as IMO are Pryce and Long.

Robbie Paul has done nothing positive in years. He has become somewhat of a joke figure with his ineffectual showings from the bench, and his comical performance in the Grand Final last year.

I like the look of the Saints halves. Pryce and Long will certainly be the most dynamic duo in the comp.

Sinfield will continue to play stand off for most of the season with Ellis at loose forward.

Having Burrow, McGuire and Mathers on the field at the same team would seem a very weak defensive line for me. Where would they hide them all?

I think Wakey should be clear of any relegation talk now - depending on injuries. Top 6 here we come...again!

Salford and Castleford will battle it out for relegation IMO.

Are you kidding? Salford should be in top 6 contention. It's between Castleford and Wakefield, the signing of a workhorse prop doesn't move them from relegation to top 6 contenders.
