Saints have been heavy favourites on at least 1 of the previous occasions and choked it big time.

Yesterdays result may have been different had wellens not got injured, saints needed leadership when they went 16 8 ahead and didn't have enough experience to keep it up. They should have gone for the kill after the 40 20 instead of taking the 2.

Really felt for Graham at the end, impressive the way he comforted young team mates, would have been easy to sulk alone after losing 5th in a row, in his last game.

I thought Gaskell was outstanding, what a player he will be. Hats off to Leeds though, Sinfield is one of the most impressive English sportsman of his generation. Also happy for Buderus going out on a high, as a pom he is the sort of aussie I admire, comes across as a great bloke.

Agree on stevo, he's great if you don't take him too seriously. Imo Clarke by far the most impressive of the team, equivalent to sterling in oz.

Yeah that was a nice little moment, showed alot about the guy's character I think. I hope he goes well over in Aus....

Stevo's role isn't supposed to be that of a serious analyst, he's there to add excitement and colour to the game while other like Phil Clarke concentrate on the (often tedious) statistical analysis. If you don't take Stevo seriously, as you shouldn't, he can contribute a lot to the broadcast, and his passion for the game is second to none.

Stevo is an idiot. Always has been. If you need him to add excitement to the game then you are watching the wrong sport.

Leeds are a good cup team. They have also hit a good bit of form for 4 weeks. Also Saints had the disadvantage of playing for a full season. So they were tired. Leeds didn't bother until August. ;-)


Still, well done Leeds worthy winners on cup final day. Your still the the 5th best team in the land though.

Winning four of the past five SL GFs hardly sounds like the resume of the fifth best team to me.

To be the Champions you have to time your run right. Wigan and Warrington came up just short. In the last 2 months of the season we have proved that we were just as good as the top 3, beating 2 of them in big games and just coming up short in 1. All this was away from Headingley too.

Doesn't matter who won the grand final. The Super league champions were the fifth best team (if you don't believe me, check out the league table). Try promoting that comp to new fans.


In fact, my season ticket renewal is up, why should i bother renewing when i can use the money to go to Wembley for the weekend and the playoff games. I can use the rest to cherry pick the best matches and have enough left over for a nice christmas.

I've never seen Warrington win the league before and now they have it all smacks a bit pointless. No recognition, no nothing. £250 for a meh. I don't have that kind of money just lying around waiting to be spent

One of the two cups? I have seen Warrington not win them either. So that can't be it.

I watched the final knowing my team was better than both on the pitch. It doesn't bother me. It happens in cups.


Maybe what upsets is I have a horrible feeling no one can give me a reason to renew. Two people have already failed to supply an answer.
Well done the RFL. Take the only thing the sport has and ruin it on the whim of a tv company.

I don't 'need' him to add excitement, but he contributes to the broadcast and I'd suggest he's far, far more knowledgeable about the game than you ever will be. Warrington did not win the league and your constant assertion that they did is getting a bit pathetic, like I said before the vast, vast majority of Warrington fans would be embarrassed by your posts and I'm sure all the neutrals on here are embarrassed on your behalf.

Have I met him? He works on the telly, not as my own personal clown. He is an idiot and adds nothing to the game other than the odd shouty thing.

Warrington did win the league. To say otherwise is stupid. They didn't win the grand final but they definately finished top of the league.

May I ask WireMan, how long have you held a season pass for Warrington? If it's longer than one season then you renewed it safe in the knowledge that if Warrington finished top of the pile at the end of the season they still wouldn't be the champions unless they won the GF. Now instead of me selling the concept to you, well, do I have to if you knew the rules and STILL renewed your season pass? How about you tell me why you renewed your season pass even though you were completely aware of the rules of the competition. Or are you a nouveau fan who doesn't know a knock on from a knock up? I said a few weeks back before the playoffs began that you were getting your excuses in early.
