League fans hey! Something doesn't work straight away so lets drop it without giving it a real chance...

It's gonna get dropped anyway...It's been mathematical impossible for teams 8,7,& 6 to make the top 4,the 5th place team has been in with a shout but after a couple of early losses they too drop off rendering the last 4-5 weeks of the season utterly pointless,it kills the season and it ends in a absolute whimper...Everyone knows the 8s is just a way get a extra 3-4 home games...That's all it is!

It will be a tight top 5. 6th 7th and 8th as before will be playing for nothing.
Said a million times, SL needs to revert to the classic top 5 system for finals.
A shorter 4 team series in place of the middle 8s.
And let everyone else go home and prepare for rep duty.

That 8th is in a system that can win a 12 team comp and 9th is up for relegation is ridiculous in itself lol

Their style of play over the last 3 years has made it quite clear that Frayssinous doesn't have what it takes, and was getting by on the strength of imports talent and influence.

Culminating in this year. A squad that on paper should still be at least in the fight for the top 4. But less talented imports and thus no discernible game plan, motivation or intensity.

If anyone saw the game V Huddersfield.. As bad a game of Rugby League as I've ever seen. Looked like a park footy training run but with more mistakes. No one looked like they cared or that there were points riding on it.
When Giants eventually took the lead I said it was a coach sacking worthy performance.

Obviously someone agreed.

After 23 games (home and away plus magic) the top 8 sides in super league break off from the bottom four and play another round between them to dertimine the top 4. Semi final knockout followed by grand final to find the winner

After 23 games in super league and championship the bottom 4 SL and top top 4 championship restart on zero points in an 8 team ladder with a single round robin of fixtures. Top 3 teams guaranteed super league status, while there is a playoff between 4th and 5th for the final "promotion spot".

On current points the middle super 8 will be- Huddersfield, catalans, Widnes, Leigh, hull kr, featherstone, Toulouse London.

Catalans were pretty bad until today against Hull FC. They put on a very good performance for the most part given the injury toll (9 out injured) and the obvious inexperience of the young replacements. They scored an equal number of tries to Hull FC but the boot of Luke Walsh was the difference. Greg Bird had a great game. My points for the game would have been:

If Catalans can keep up yesterday's form they will stay in the top 8 and never have to face Toulouse.

Wakefield look safe - which means one of the 'big' clubs St Helens or Warrington will be in the middle 8s.. or Catalans.

Is it me or is this the best year for all leagues in the u.k.

Super league with Castleford , Wakefield and Salford all in the top 4 breaking the usual mold of Wigan, sthelens, Leeds and Warrington dominating the league in the previous 5-10 years. Magic weekend was once again a raging success in Newcastle.

In the championship we have the success of Toulouse , London and Hull.K.R . The Summerbash once again proved to be a huge hit with fans thanks to Hull k.r and Bradford who bought huge numbers to the event.

In League 1, Toronto has bought unprecedented media attention,crowds and sponsorship to not only League 1 but to rugby league in general. 7k to a league 1 game in Toronto is a reflection of how successful this team was promoted and launched .

The success of Dull KR (albeit at a lower level) isn't anything to crow about.
