The problem is that we don't really know what the NRL's intentions are towards rugby league in France.
Some fans only see RL in France through the prism of the SL and those have a lot of hope in NRL' investment.

Others, including myself, think that it is too late, unless colossal sums are invested in the roots of the game, unless there is a media reversal of RU's dominant position, which implies the infiltration of the NRL into media and influence networks with aggressive communication.

No French child dreams of a professional career in rugby league, no parents dream of a professional career in rugby league for their children, no media puts RL on the front page, no TV wants to broadcast RL, no company wants to invest in RL.

Rugby league brings nothing to France, neither money, nor recognition, nor return on investment and it is not the Dragons and Toulouse alone who will save french RL.

And let's not forget the non-existence of international RL

The original concept of NRL buying superleague was broadcast money would be pooled and each team would get same grant. Toulouse and Catalans would immediately be able to compete with rugby clubs over there. Don't think that's the case anymore but just an example of benefits of united game.
