Supercoach 2024 - I've gone off early

Few changes with xerri and weeks missing out. Iv gone with all 25 players named this week sacrificing early points with the hope of not using any trades till week 4 and lots of players hopefully on unders.

I've turfed Xerri and Weekes too. I actually thought Xerri would play but, whatever. I have 50 odd players on my watch listbut need some cheapies to become cash cows to get some of them.

The only snarks I have that reached their BE so far are non playing placeholders or cash cows I put in to be, well, cash cows

The established have been really low scoring for me

Hynes, Cleary, Grant the most noticeable Round 1 fails for my side. Couple of others who didn't see the end of the game. The Pommies I have both broke their break evens. Smithies is going to be good. Hope to make enough by round 4 or 5 to get Pryce in as well. I think he plays before then, maybe next week, with Tuala blowing some sort of gasket

I’ve not had much luck in Round 1, but still looking like I might sneak a win in my head to head… The big letdowns for my team;

Piakura - only played a few minutes before HIA - 4 points

Addo-Carr - only played 1st half - 6 points

Mam - just rubbish - 21 points

Hynes - My Captain…. Played well, but scored poor - 26 points

Papz - played well, but scored poor - 30 points

Question is whether to panic and trade or not…

I have Burbo but as an emergency, so I picked Kris knowing he was suspended so it would allow Burbo to be looped into my 17 for scoring

After many years of playing and only ever winning one public competition I would advise against panicking. I'm determined to stick and pick this year. Panicking kills me every year. LOL

Not to mention I only have about $60k cap left

I have Burbo but he was an emergency, so to get his points apparently and need to wait till end of round to get them.

I have to have a centre that does not play so I selected Kris.

So you get the emergency to come it but its lowest scoring in position, so I then had too make sure my other centre options are on the bench.

I have done that I also have Ethan Strange but he is in my halves as emergency, now hopefully I get Burbo's score as have him in the centres, I will let you know how it goes, as said I might have this all screwed, I have probably cronullafied myself

The automatic emergency will be the lowest scoring player who receives a score greater than 0 from your Substitutes list, and is not picked as one of your four reserves. The Automatic Emergency score will be automatically added to the total points scored by your team.

yup, so if Stake wants burbo as his Auto Reserve he'll need a tonne of lower scoring players on his non-selected bench and then pick Kris as his "player". He'll get the lowest score of those non-selected reserves which likely won't be Burbo.

Could be same approach on Cleary as well.

I avoided Nicho to start season, but have issue with Cleary.

It's just round 1, I can't see either of them keep having low scores

not to mention the price increase you would get from the player you bring in instead.
