To be fair, Pearce and Maloney were never going to dominate a game where NSW made 4x the tackles that QLD did in the first 15 minutes. You just can't burn that sort of juice early in Origin and expect to come out on top.

After 20 minutes QLD had 84% possession ffs, Joey Johns couldn't have magically kicked his way out of there. Pearce played as well as is really possible under the conditions. QLD had a roll on, kicking from halfway on tackles 3 and 4 to take advantage of our back 3 not being set. We were kicking on the last from our 30 under the pump.

Yet again NSW have far worse players out there (Maloney was at best unsighted, at worst a liability), most of the side has never seen a series victory yet Pearce is the one copping it. Yawwn
