Mum was just in france for a month, didnt find the people particularly welcoming. When I was there I didnt like Paris but liked the south of france and the alps regions. Like most places just dont be a dick and you're alright.

Americans cop a bad wrap (sort of like Australians in europe) because in alot of cases they are terrible travellers, loud and obnoxious (and i've met enough of them at uni). In their own country however they are pretty good, very welcoming and helpful and generous as well.

Maybe. I'm yet to go to America. The only city I'm interested to visit is New York. I'd go to San Fran and Ruidoso in New Mexico to see friends, but I'd not be interested in seeing the cities themselves.
