Drew, no one reads your multi quote messages. They are far too long.

But, but, I read everyone's posts no matter how long or boring they are... :(

Drew, The Bible is a miniseries created by Mark Burnett (the guy who created survivor) and his wife.

Being the religious type I'm sure you would enjoy it.

From all reports it is pretty much the book (old and New Testament) on video.

Might have a look. TBH, I've seen a few adaptations. Not a big fan, as most of the meaning is lost and American's have a shocking tendency to screw these types of things up.

From what I read on Wikipedia a lot of the heads of the Catholic Church in America think it is a great adaptation.

No public outcry like there was with The Passion of The Christ or the last temptation of Christ.

I don't pay much attention to the Catholic Church. Them putting their 'good will' behind it is of little consequence since they're trying to stop the Royal Commission into abuse; their opinion is redundant and offensive, in most cases for me, and I think they're an irrelevant bunch - 90% of whom don't represent Christ, the church or the mission Jesus left us at the end of Matthew 28.

Have a read of In God's Name, by David Yallop. I'm fairly convinced that they killed the first true Christian they'd had in as pope for many hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

EDIT - sorry if that sounded harsh to you. Wasn't supposed to be. I just get distressed by the Catholic church.

Nah it's all good.

All I was trying to say was that this show didn't have any outrage directed towards it by the people who were outraged by the 2 movies I mentioned.

For sure.

To be honest, I thought The Passion was a fairly realistic depiction of what happened, so was amused by the CC's outrage. He was crucified, for crying out loud - it wasn't pretty!

The original Warcraft and Civilization were my downfall. I was in the grip of digital addiction unti about 2006 or 2007.

I've played various mmorpgs since 2003, racking up an absurd amount of hours.

I still play Civilization III.

I like it much better than Civ IV

I loved the original Railway Tycoon too.

I might buy the latest version when it comes out.

Sid Meier is a gaming god

Civ 2 is my fav. I spent many, many, many hours on that.

Civ 1 was awesome though. I loved getting a battleship and trying to attack a city, only to have the numerical calculation run against me and get defeated by a fortified phalanx

Sid Meier is awesome. Agree re the first Railway Tycoon. Why haven't they done more :(
