Disappointing final...with Murray and Djoko in cracking form I was hoping for a bit of an epic. But del Potro seems to have broken Djoko down...I'm not sure I've seen him make so many unforced errors. Murray looks fresh as. It was a surprisingly quick stage of the Tour as well, given the million climbs.

On the plus side I'll be in bed before sunrise, I suppose.

It's a shame but it was pretty clear Djoko was just not there either physically or mentally after that ridiculous match with del Potro. Murray's form and fitness was a hard ask straight after that. Which sucks because he's such a f**king trackhead.

The Scottish ranga earned that one. Carrying the weight of expectation of a nation after a 77 year drought, and his own past disappointments (1 from 6 Grand Slam Finals previously). Played fantastically well. And he didn't beat a mug. Djokovich may have been buggered after his semi, but he still showed how good a player he is at several points in that match. I disagree with Baz, that's about the highest quality tennis I've seen in a straight sets match.

I must admit, I don't think I've ever heard such biased commentary. It was all about Murray. Even when Hewitt, Phillipousis, and Rafter were playing Grand Slam finals I don't recall it being that bad. It was even worse than David Morrow calling a Saints game.

Must be a good time to be a pommie sports fan ATM. It's only going to get better when they win the ashes twice over the next few months as well. It'll come down to the Kangaroos to stop the rot at the World Cup. Then of course, they'll get demolished at the soccer World Cup next year and all should be back to normal by then.
