The Lyon hate is ridiculous, he's done a pretty reasonable job, he's just not Shane Warne.

Siddles first spell really poor, good next over, not sure why they put Starc back on for him though.

Things could get ugly if we dont get through these two batsmen quickly though

Watching Starc bowl is frustrating.

He seems to bowl one really good delivery every over, then sprays the rest to either the leg slip or gully regions

Shouldnt be in the test team. Should be in first class cricket working on actually putting consistent overs together, not just a couple of great balls and some shite.

Problem is his good stuff is good enough at state level/against nuffies to take wickets and get away with it, against the best (as we saw against the Saffa's and I think we'll see with Cook, KP and Trott) they can face out his good stuff and murder his crap.

Hopefully for Australias sake im way off because I want to win, but I think Bird and/or Harris are comfortably better bowlers at present.

And yet he was more consistent than Pattinson or Siddle in that first session...go figure? Cops such a bad wrap IMO

I actually really enjoy what KP brings to the game. I mean I love to hate him, but he's really good and when he's on England dont lose. He doesnt back down and backs up his arrogance.

Bit of an aura about him when he bats, how I imagine Sir Viv would've been back in the day

He might be a merkin but I'm glad he's playing

Nah, he's nothing like Viv.

Richards was the most intimidating batsmen to ever play the game.

Nothing fancy about him. He was always coming at the bowler, physically and mentally. Wouldn't wear a helmet because he defied the bowler to bowl short at him.

Viv had the greatest eye I've ever seen and he was the first to approach an innings thinking that he could score a boundary off every ball.

Best ball in the history of cricket right here:

He was waffling in the media beforehand relentlessly about how McGrath had lost too much pace and was a pie thrower.

LOL.

McGrath was one of the best you'll ever see. A few batsmen got his measure for a game here and there but in the end he would figure them out and have the accuracy to pick them apart.
