I've really disliked all the anti-Benji Marshall stuff tbh. He started off strong, then came back after alot of serious injuries to be very, very good from about mid-08 - 2011. Even last year he wasnt as bad as people were making out (still created a shitload of scoring opportunities). Been a shadow of his former self this year unfortunately.

But frankly that Tigers side from 08-11 was great to watch play footy, and came along right when the game needed it. Just because certain commentators ran it into the ground doesnt change how enjoyable their play was. And a huge part of the was Marshall, who was outstanding for much of this time period (well not the first half of 08, but after that). He brought alot of fans to this game and his worth to the Tigers in that time was enormous.

Sad to see him go out like this, but was a very good player

Work and issues at business sorted whilst the boss is away on business trip done, errands done, dinner prepped and in oven. Time to study.

He wasn't THAT good. He had freakish skills never seen before, mostly his insane step.

But in 2012 he stopped taking on the line and he was pedestrian.

This year he just hasn't given a f**k and he's treating his club, fans and the NRL like shit.

He shit in his own nest, he deserves the criticisms hurled at him.

Benji Marshall's NRL career was a shot duck once he shelved that step that he had.

Without it, all he did was run from side to side and pick up straight runners with an inside ball / flick pass. As long as you don't chase him across the line from the inside, he is ineffectual.

Pretty accurate.

As a Tigers fan I'd like to remember him as the player he once was rather than the merkin he turned into. However given his pathetic attitude this year its getting pretty hard to do.
